Just a quick question on the June update?

Hey all,

I have my X1 hard wired on my network. In fact, it's the only device that uses Ethernet as everything else is wireless. I use standby mode 99% of the time. So before the June update, when I turned off the Xbox it would go into standby mode. Since it is plugged
into port 2 on my router's Ethernet port, the [port 2] indicator light on the router would change from green to orange, obviously indicating that the Xbox was in standby and there was no longer any network activity happening for that port.

Any time there has been a system update, the light would remain orange for a minute or so [after turning off the Xbox] and would then go green again as the update downloaded. Afterward, it would return to orange. It has worked this way for all previous updates
except this one. With this update, the console powered down normally but when the Ethernet port light went green, it stayed green.

Everything else is fine, the update is installed and it all works. No bugs (that I've noticed yet) or glitches. I power cycled and even did a hard reset, but the Ethernet light stays green all the time now. Well, unless I use the Energy Save mode. I was
just wondering if this was a small thing they did in this update and just haven't listed?

As long as there isn't anything wonky going on, or there aren't any large file U/L - D/Ls happening [My ISP has a data limit] I don't really care. I was just curious if this is something I need to keep an eye on?

wondering what this means and its its a bad or good thing. I already had the infected title at the time this notice appeared as well

There's nothing to worry about at this point in time. For each and every game you currently have installed on your HDD, small updates/patches/etc are constantly downloaded on a regular basis. I would, however, recommend the you continue to keep an eye out
for your data usage. If it starts getting close to your limit, I would shut the console off completely, instead of Standby. This option can be selected in the Console portion of the Settings Menu. Hope this helps.

 

Is that what the red numbered light on my router means? When I put my X-One into low power, the port indicator light on my router changes from green to red. I was worried there was a problem and that my xbox wouldn't be doing background updates...?

Any confirmation either way will be appreciated!
