Jurassic Park OG not playing

Greetings, All.

I recently purchased Jurassic Park Operation Genesis (original Xbox) for my boys. After discovering that I needed an additional HDD (we have a 360s), I purchased one. After THEN discovering that, no, only a real, true, official MS HDD will do (of course),
I got one of those (250 GB). All updates are applied, including erasing all previous ones and reinstalling from scratch. It still will not play. When we attempt to open it, the following appears in a window:

"This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox360 console. An update to support this game may be available. For more info, go to
www.xbox.com/games."



At the top of this window is a gray bar that says, "This original Xbox game has encountered a", and that's it. At the bottom is a green bar that says, " This original Xbox game has not been c...", and THAT'S it.

I know JPOG is a compatible game, as it is on every list. I have a branded MS HDD. I have the latest update. Why is this not working?

Jurassic Park is a modern theme. Soooo, I would go city pack, for LEGO Jurassic Park maybe plastic pack. Would love to see game captures when done!

 

The list is lying to you. There are games on there that don't work, and games that aren't on there that do work. Unless it's been confirmed to work with someone else, don't trust the list. Microsoft doesn't give a rats whether the list or not is accurate.

So basically all I could find is..regions...PAL 50 and NTSC-NA are listed. If you are on PAL 60, the game will not boot, change to PAL-50. (EU, AU and NZ) If you're in NTSC-J, then it won't work. Only the two regions and video modes I mentioned will work.
If you're in North America or are in Europe and are on PAL-50 and it still won't work, then the list is wrong.

forums.xbox.com/.../25.aspx, it may help you with the issue your having. On the subject of your hard drive, have a look at this
ecx.images-amazon.com/.../418CeAuR1nL.jpg if the packaging is not the same, then your hard drives are not official drives.

 

@Stuart--I bought it used off ebay, so no original box, but unless the guy I bought it from replaced the innards, it's official, MS branding and all. The console recognizes it differently than it did the first, non-MS drive as well.

@Irixion--Hm, I was unaware of any regional change ability. I'm in Connecticut, and have made no change to regions in any way. Guess I'll have to check the box.

 

If you purchased it used off of ebay, then there's a 99.9% chance it's a knock-off hard drive. Most hard drives on ebay look extremely real, but are fake. The only way to guarantee you're getting an official drive is by purchasing a brand new drive.

 

I don't know why people keep telling you your drive is a fake.

Try other Xbox original titles that are confirmed to work. (e.g. Sonic Heroes is really the only one I can think of off the top of my head). If they work and this doesn't, Microsoft just *** up. The list like I said isn't reliable. He-Man: Defender of Grayskull
is/was on the list despite the fact the game was you know, never even released. If they don't work, then your drive is either fake or just plain broken, but that's unlikely.

 

Hey Irixion, the reason why we say that the drive may be a fake is because most of the time, they usually are. Gamers go online hoping to get a good deal on buying a hard drive for the Xbox 360 expecting it to work, not realising that what they got was
a fake unofficial drive.

 

This is the drive I bought. Looks mighty official and Gates-branded to me. Anybody see any tell-tales to indicate I goot rooked?

avg price for a MS brand 250 drive is close to 100 bucks so for 29.99 that one screams knock off. you can buy the MS hard drive enclosures and put any laptop drive in them and say they are official. but if the game does not play with that hard drive in
it and it is on the compatibility list then the drive is fake there is NO way to make a fake drive work with 360 for playing the old games sorry.
