    Jumpy gameplay. Please help!

I've had my Xbox One from day one and never had a problem until this week. When playing games now the frame rate is awful. For example on forza 5, when driving it isn't smooth anymore. I've tried other games and the same problem occurs. I think it
seems like a problem with how the xbox is outputting the frame rate. Im in the UK so have the enable 50hz on in settings so that I can use the TV through option. Before this problem the xbox would switch over to 50hz when watching TV then back to 60hz for
gameplay. I know this because my TV shows when this happens on screen. If I go into disable the 50hz option it switches to 60hz then when I back out of the settings menu it switches back to 50hz so I know the problem isn't my TV. It's driving me nuts, I can't
play games like this. I do recall a few days ago that I had a number if error notifications with regard to an automatic killer instinct update. As in about 10-15 notifications in a row. I ended up deleting killer instinct as I don't play it anyway and was
sick of the notifications popping up. I'm just hoping that there wasn't some sort of hard drive corruption related to this. I tried Xbox support chat last night and she was about as useful as a chocolate teapot, please help! I've posted the transcript from
    the chat last night below.

You are now chatting with 'Paige'

Paige: Hello, thank you for contacting Xbox Customer Support. My name is Paige. Please give me a moment to review your question.

Paige: Hi there Michael, how are you today?

Michael: Not bad apart from this issue!

Paige: Oh I do apologize for the inconvenience that this caused you.

Paige: I am seeing here that you are having issue with your Xbox One when playing game, is that correct?

Michael: Yeah. I'm not sure where you're based but in the UK the TV is broadcast in 50hz. Now it seems like when I switch from the TV app to a game it's no longer switching back to 60hz for playing the game

Paige: I see. Thank you for that added information.

    Paige: I do appreciate it.

Paige: May I know when did you notice this issue?

Michael: Today. Although I haven't played a game for a few days, just used the TV app.

Paige: For us to isolate the issue here, can we perform troubleshooting steps on the console now?

    Michael: Yes that's fine

    Paige: Perfect!

Paige: Please press and hold the power button and the bind button(left side of the disc tray). The console will turn itself off. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and the console and leave it unplugged for two minutes. Plug the power
cord back to the power outlet and the console. Make sure the power brick LED light is Amber. Turn the console back on.

    Michael: Ok

Paige: Please let me know once done.

Michael: Just switching back on now

    Michael: Ok back on now

    Paige: Good thing.

    Michael: What now?

Paige: Can you check it now if still there's an issue.

    Michael: No still the same

    Paige: Go to Settings> Network> Advance Settings> ALTERNATE MAC ADDRESS> clear> restart

    Michael: Ok, then try again?

    Paige: Yes please.

Paige: Thank you for being so cooperative.

    Paige: I do appreciate it.

Michael: No no worries. It's still the same. When I go into settings, TV and oneguide, troubleshooting, video I always have the enable 50hz on to support the TV and then it normally switches between 50hz for TV and 60hz for games. I've tried
turning off the 50hz option and then it switches to 60hz. But when I back out of the TV and oneguide menu it switches back to 50hz mode again. I don't understand why, it's never done it before today.

Paige: Just to clarify, are not able to play the game?

Michael: I can play it but the frame rate is really poor. The motion isn't smooth it's jumpy.

    Paige: Oh I see.

    Paige: I got it.

Paige: No worries on that Michael, there is no problem with your console and as well as with the game you have.

Paige: Our Top Engineers are still working on this one.

Paige: Please wait within 2-3 hours and it will be fix and back to normal.

Michael: When did this problem arise then?

Paige: This is really happening to the area you are basing right now.

    Paige: This is happening yesterday.

    Michael: Right ok

Paige: No need to worry if there will be an update then I will personally inform you on this one. Okay?

Michael: So this is happening in my area? Even though I'm playing offline? How can that cause a frame rate issue?

Paige: So you mean when you are also playing offline games you also encounter this issue?

Michael: Yes, and I am sure it is because the xbox isn't outputting in 60hz when playing games like it should

Paige: Yes that's correct that is why our Top Engineers are still working on this one.

Paige: No need to worry if there will be an update then I will personally inform you on this one.

    Michael: Right okay.......

    :)

    Jumpy gameplay. Please help!

    Hi Bigfarlz.

I would think that this has somethink to do with the TV refresh rate and / or CEC communicaton

From xbox -> topbox and vise versa.

I don't know your tv brand but i would try this.

Do a hard power off. (5second shutdown) and unplugg.

Pull out the topbox from your xbox one. And make sure the xbox is on a single hdmi

To the tv (no amps etc between). Also change the hdmi port on the tv. On certain tvs there are major differences in game mode / tv mode settings that might break stuff a bit.

Now when thats fixed , power on, check it again.

If the problem persists let me know. If it works... Also let me know Jumpy gameplay. Please help! :)

Still the same after trying what you've suggested unfortunately. I have also tried changing display settings. I switched the output on the console to 720p and my TV went to 720p and 60hz, the when asked if I wanted to keep this setting I pressed yes and
it switched to 720p and 50hz. The same happened when I switched back to 1080p.

This could be a TV issue. Thou I'm not sure. E.g Xbox Has upgraded firmware, and TV dosen't understand the communication. Would it be to much to ask and try another tv? perhaps a friends if you don't have two.... if it still lags there it's most def Xbox
    One.
