Jumps with Kinect

Anyone else have problems when you jump in an exercise? My camera more often than not just loses me - the mirror image of me in the box to the right disappears so it is an empty black box and sometimes it does a jarring crashing noise and the outline of
that box goes red.

It will also say something like "Stay in the tracking area", even though I haven't physically left it. I've been through every troubleshooting step with Microsoft support and tried all kinds of different calibration things but it doesn't change.

Tuck jumps, vertical jumps and the jump-lunges in Mossa Fight are next to impossible for me to remain tracked throughout and it loses form - so basically I can't complete any of those with 5 stars. A couple of times I have noticed that the area where the floor
is flashes a hashed out green and then the whole thing goes black so have speculated with MS support that the camera loses track of where the floor is.

Curious if anyone else has issues? I have occasional issues with floor exercises losing me but that is rare - the jumps are a given that the camera will lose me every time at some point and then the form counter ticks down to nothing until I stop and wave
my arms around for a second or two.

I just got done with them the other day. A few of them took a few tries. Quick saving before a jump helped.

If anyone is having a hard time with the stunt jumps, you should check out . I had such a hard time doing the lighthouse one! It was quite difficult.

 

I do have the occasional problems with floor exercises, but never had issues with jumps. Even thought Kinect doesn't see much above my head. With Kinect Sports Rivals for example I always get a warning with rock climbing about Kinect not being able to fully
see my raised arm.

Just for giggles, did you try doing the jumps in the 'what does kinect see' screen in the settings? May give some more insight to what is going on. Placing the sensor on the other side of the TV may help too. Have it sitting directly on top of the TV myself.

 

I did sort of simulate in the settings but will play around with it some more tomorrow.

My sensor is about in the middle, above the TV (it's an old DLP so has enough at the back to just rest it on top).

Used to do jumps ok on the 360, same room, Nike+ Kinect. Weird....
