July Xbox One update

One of my friends told me that the July Xbox One update came out a couple weeks ago. Is that true? It is the end of July and I don't think I ever got the update if it did come out. I was just wondering if it is out yet.

The July update was released weeks ago. Check your OS version it should be 1407.

If in the preview program your OS will be 1408.

Yeah, it was released on July 7th. The build number is xb_rel_1407.140703-1704 if you want to check you have it, but you almost certainly do. It probably downloaded and installed while you weren't using the console, as updates do that if your console is
set to "instant on" mode.

Are you sure the problem was caused by Charter's update, or is it possibly caused by the July 2014 XBox One update (which was released at that time)?

Backwards compatible games being added is another demon. They added one-two more since they announced this at E3.But, other than that, it could be random, or it could be essentially not at all. My guess would be they add more throughout, depending on getting
licenses. I would also think they would do their best to get a good multiplayer online game in before it's public release later this year to test everything.
