July update completely broke quality of live tv experience

Wow what a complete disaster live tv is now after the July update.

I have a direct tv receiver, hr20, and panasonic plasma vt60.

    My problems:

    1. Constant we lost your signal errors when changing channels that go away after several seconds

    2. Constant your hardware isn't licensed to watch protected content from my receiver when changing channels

    3. Experiencing static grainy screen, loss of signal, when changing channels

    4. Tv app launches in broken state sometimes where signal fades in and out.

    :)

  2. Xbox One has live tv bug after July update.

Apparently the July update has affected various makes and models of set top boxes. I have directv stb model HR24. The screen stutters as well as project a grainy picture quality. My receiver says that my channels are not supported. Constant tv signal loss.
Plugged hdmi cable directly into my 55 in Sony and it works perfectly. It must be a software issue with the latest update. Never had problems until after the July update rolled out. Help fix it.

    Live tv

The July update is now on my Xbox one. Where do I find the Live TV now? My Apple TV is plugged in to my Xbox and I can’t access it now.

I keep getting the same 'lost signal' message every other day or so. Very frustrating as you are forced to reboot the Xbox to fix.

  5. In the May update a feature was added so that I could adjust volume by x amount each time. That was great. Finally I could just say "xbox volume up" and the TV would adjust itself. Because my Pioneer Xbox 360 surround sound receiver doesn't always register
the IR signal, I set the adjustment to 10 and then the volume would get adjusted up or down by 4 or 6 points. The June update apparently removed that feature all together. So now, I can no longer use voice commands to adjust volume.

Additionally I have been having HDMI and HDCP errors with my AT&T Uverse set top box. It's a Cisco box model IPN430MC. What I've figured out is that the errors occur when watching non-HD channels and the set top box has audio set to Surround Sound. I have
two options for correcting the problem. If I can get the box back to an HD channel and then power cycle the Xbox OR set the audio to stereo instead of surround sound.

Either way, everything was working great back in May and now Live TV is frustratingly unwatchable through the Xbox One!

  6. This problem was known about during the beta, but they seem to have released it generally anyway, which seems a bit odd. However, there also were aware of the problem, so hopefully that means a fix is incoming sooner rather than later, which is why they
decided to release it like this?

Well, I've lost my TV setup completely, as well as cable box setup and recognition. It started with the audio not working on my audio system, but only if I used sleep mode. If I turned off the xbox 1 off by holding the button, it would give me audio. So
I tried unplugging that and turning on and off a few times, next thing I know tv is not working at all, not if we want to watch comcast. In other words, the latest update seems to have killed the HDMI input because this is what happens if nothing is plugged
into it. Tried everything starting with different cables, to maybe it's not plugged in kind of stuff.

July update completely broke quality of live tv experience

I'm having the same problem with Xbox One currently. My Verizon cable box constantly is losing signal on the console. Very frustrating. Unplugged everything, plugged it back in, turned off turned on no change.

I'm also having HDCP errors that only began as of late. Didn't make the connection until I read this, but I believe it may have begun after the July update.

I have to power cycle my STB (Cisco RNG150N, Comcast) to get things working. Doable, but very frustrating.

  10. Hey guys! Sorry this issue popped up. I see a lot of you have done troubleshooting and helping each other out. One thing to try is simply quitting the TV App.

    • Hit the Menu button on the app
    • Select Quit
Relaunch the app and it should work for you.

I'd also like to gather some things from you. Would you mind posting back your STB (set top box) information, as well as who you get your cable through? I need as much info as I can. goldenmean - Don't worry, I have yours!

Thanks so much, guys! Let me know if this works or if it doesn't. We want to get this fixed up for you

  12. Thank you so much for pointing this out to me, tnt monty! That issue seems slightly different to the one that I am trying to gather information for, which is specifically the HDCP error. However, most of the info I would need is there. I'll scoop it all
    up and include it!

  13. July update completely broke quality of live tv experience

I responded to another thread that hasn't been answered but it sounds like the same issue so:

    Time Warner Cable

    CISCO Explorer 8640HDC

    Pioneer VSX-120 A/C Receiver

I get an HDCP warning briefly. It goes away but leaves sound disabled. Unplugged the Xbox One for a few minutes usually clears it up. Next time it happens I'll try rebooting the TV app.

I am facing "lost TV signal" message after July update. The signal comes back after around 2 min. This issue is really frustrating as it was working perfectly fine before the update and never faced any issues not even once. I tried selecting tv connection
as "hdmi" and the resolution of the TV and cable box are the same at 720p but still nothing changed.

I have a humax receiver and use it as a satellite only as one guide in not available in my county.

  15. Hi, since the July update am also facing the now famous "lost tv signal"... The method you mentioned Misses Quinzel doesn't solve any problem. Is the real solution per today to unplug tv source from xbox? Thanks to come up with a new corrective update asap.
