Judgement Compatibility Confusion

I'm confused as to why the game Judgement appears to be only available on Series X/S whereas the recently announced Lost Judgement (the sequel) will be available on Xbox One and on Series X/S. In the Microsoft Store on my Xbox One S, Judgement says it "Optimised for Series X/S" and when I go to buy it tells me "Not playable on this device". Seems it is "Exclusive to..." not "Optimised for...".

Is this an oversight by Microsoft or is this supposed to be the case? It doesn't seem to make sense that the sequel is available on more consoles. I also thought one of the new selling points of the Xbox ecosystem is you can play the games on the previous generation, but that they are optimised for the new (current).

Can anyone shine some insight on this?

Well that nice and all , money mongers but I don't want to play a sequel to a game when I haven't played the original. So either make it available for people who have the majority of your consoles in last gen because its mad difficulty to get next Gen right now and No games really worth paying for either. Or just keep your sequel to yourself!

Microsoft said it is up to the devs if they want to create cross generations games, they can release just for series if they want, it is first party titles that are cross gen guaranteed for at least a couple of years.

as the first game was a ps4 exclusive at first then went to ps5 they didnt alter the game to play on normal xbox ones as it would have cost them more dev time so they basically ported over the ps5 version so only works with series.

the new game has been made for ps4 and 5 and xbox one and series plus other platforms. this means it is compatible from the get go.

Xbox 360 games and XBLA games will not work on the Xbox One. Sorry.

Yikes... hmmm i really hope they re-release some games then, and i Think i will really wait untill i get my Xbox One untill i start to buy more XBLA titles.

MS is definitely trying to put the message out that backwards compatibility is Not Going To Happen. Not at launch, not later. I'm not going to toss my 360 in the trash, but it's kind of a letdown. Gotta keep two consoles hooked up so I can keep playing Rock
Band.
