Joystick acceleration?

is there a way to turn off joystick acceleration? im a pc gamer considering getting an xbox one so i can play destiny and acceleration, mouse or joystick messes with my ***.

you know how when you look around you progressivly look faster instead of starting at the max speed you have set? turning that off makes you more accurate on pc, and on 360 you couldnt turn it off and it made aiming bad

 

There no way to turn it off, just move the sticks straight to edge.

 

youre not understanding, even when you move all the way to the edge, it still accelerates further the longer you hold it there

 

If it does I don't notice it, M&C is different to using a controller, if you want to play on a console you have to get use to the differences.

what games do you think it still accelerates after you move the game to the edge, in all the FPS's I play is certainly doesn't.

 

ive noticed this from playing halo 3 bfbc 1 2 and bf3 cod whatevers back in my xbox 360 days, it sounds like maybe they dont have it for the xbox one? surely people would notice if it was happening

 

I didn't play Halo on the 360 and only played BF Bad Company 2 (I played a lot of COD), and don't remember it on them either.

I recommend you go into a store that has one on display and ask to play before you buy, to see if its something that works for you.

It's a feature of consoles that's a part of auto-aim. It's hard to aim like on PC, so every console game has built-in limiters that make it easier for people to aim - what you're describing is one of those limiters. Believe me, you may want to turn it off,
but you'll find it next to impossible to aim or point at anything on a console if you did.

 

Auto aim is essential for console shooters. Some shooters have too much (CODCODCODCOD), but most have a good amount, often the minimal for a good experience.

It's so you can throw around the sticks and still aim precisely. I personally don't throw them around like some people do but it does help in a fast paced situation. Besides, how unrealistic would it be if Chief were to suddenly spin around at full speed
when something was coming up behind him? It would be hilarious. Besides, that stuff was already quite bad in Reach when I used it to catch people try to assassinate me.

It's a console thing. Time to live with it.

 

Aim doesn't continue to accelerate when you move the thumbsticks to the edge, which is what the Op has issue with.

 

Wouldn't changing the "look/aim" sensitivity in game help?
