Discus and support Joining a friend in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; I want to play "Sea of Thieves" with a friend but I can't join his session.     I want to play "Sea of Thieves" with a friend but I can't join his session. The "Join Button" for his session doesn't appear but there is enough space and he didn't lock the party. I don't know what I should do now.

    my daughter is trying to join her cousin on Xbox. They are friends but when she goes to invite him to join her game it's greyed out??? How can she join him???

    Hey NiftyNorrington!

    As M3tal Daz3 has stated this can be an issue with NAT clashes. However this can also be caused by privacy settings on one or both of your profiles.

    Failing that, there are other problems that can cause this including the type of connection you are both using, ethernet or WiFi.

    However this is generally caused by NAT issues as already mentioned. Joining a friend :)

    There could be many reasons why this happens including if he is showing offline or if your account has restrictions about joining. Have him send you an invite to see if that helps.

    I would suggest you to check the NAT type of your connection. If either you or your friend have a strict or moderate NAT type that will cause you issues in joining each other's game sessions.

    We've both checked our nat types, and fixed any issues that were there. Both of our nat types are open, but we still can't join each other.
