Joining a club vs Privacy settings

I tried to join several clubs recently via the Windows 10 Xbox app. However, every time I clicked 'Ask for Invitation', I received a message 'You cannot do this due to Your account settings. To change this, go to your Privacy and Online Security Settings
on the Xbox website'. I checked my settings many times and I am allowed to join clubs but the message keeps appearing! I do not know what to do anymore.

Not able to join clubs on Xbox windows app

I am unable to join clubs on the Microsoft Xbox App. It gave me an error saying that my privacy settings were avoiding me from joining clubs. I've seen my privacy settings and the clubs joining option was allowed but I'm still facing the same problem . I
would be glad if you could help me out with this problem.

Clubs

Hey there!

Sometimes this issue is caused by a privacy setting. Go to account.microsoft.com and under the privacy tab check to see if the joining and creating clubs is enabled.

Hi there,

sometimes it just takes time, also be sure to try to Sign out and Sign back in again, since that is required to make sure a change in the Privacy and Online settings take effect.

Be sure to double check for the settings at

If all is set up correctly over there, try to ask for an invitation via the Xbox App and via the Xbox One console (be sure to sign out and in before trying)

If it fails be sure to wait at least 24 hours and try to ask for an invite again.

So far, I checked my settings several times, Signed out and back in a few times and tried asking for an invitation via the website and the Xbox app (I do not own an Xbox One yet) and this is what I got:

- For the website, nothing happened after clicking 'Ask for invitation'

- For the app, the exact same error message appeared.

I will wait these 24 hours but i doubt it would solve the problem.

As I thought, nothing helped. The error message keeps appearing in the app and nothing happens on the website, even after re-signing out and back in.

Have you double checked that your Xbox One privacy settings allow you to join Clubs? Open up Settings, navigate over to "Privacy and Online Settings" (in the Account tab), and under Xbox Live privacy, check that you don't have "Blocked" for "Can join Clubs."

I have same issue already check for me to allow join the clubs but still cannot join the club....solution please
