Join Xbox Live Gold

Hello, I bought a 15$ Xbox gift card and I redeemed the code, but when I use the payment options for joining in Xbox Live Gold. Xbox doesn't let me choose the 15$ gift card I used.

Sorry that you feel this way. I will try and assist you in how to join Xbox LIVE (and Gold if wanted). You can join Xbox LIVE Gold (or you can simply choose to have a free, silver, account) by viewing the
Join Xbox LIVE Gold page of which will then take you to sign up and make an account.

Hi, Use a debit/credit card or PayPal or buy a Live card, as you cannot you a gift card to purchase Xbox Live Gold.

You can use your $15 gift card to purchase games, map packs, music, movies and TV shows

 

yeah the only thing you cannot buy with cards like that is Live Gold everything else can be bought with it. as War said you can only get Live via a CC or alt payment like paypal or the pre pay Gold cards sold in stores.

Gift cards are awesome but yes sadly there are 2 types of XBOX cards available -

1. for games and extras

2. for gold membership purchases.

It is confusing for those new to purchasing the cards and why XBOX didn't make them the same.

You have the extras card and can only purchase such things. Smile nicely at your family and they help with the Gold card otherwise as stated you need to include a form of payment to purchase it. This is especially important for those who set up auto-renewal.
