Jammed keys and controllers not able to shift selection

Hi, you can try to connect a keyboard and mouse to the xbox via usb, you should be able to navigate through the settings with them...

said that I think that your problem is related to the controller itself or to some controller setting, are you able to open the app "xbox accessories"? Here you can verify if your sticks and buttons are working correctly

Please, follow these steps:

Open the Xbox Accessories app.

Scroll to your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and select Configure.

Select a profile to adjust or create a new one.

Select the Edit button and in the Mapping tab select the icon or letter for the button or input you’d like to change.

Select Primary and in the pop-up menu select the Key tab.

In this menu you can remap a single keyboard key with as many of the listed modifier keys as you want. Use Assign a key to choose the keyboard key you want mapped to the controller button or input and then select as many of the modifier key checkboxes as desired for the following: Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Win.

The shift button allows you to assign a secondary set of mappings to controls.

So, for example, in your screenshot the lower-left paddle is mapped to LS, however, if you hold in shift and press the lower-left paddle, it's then mapped to X instead of LS. That allows you to do 2 different actions with the same paddle, depending on whether you have shift held in or not.

Think of it like your computer keyboard. If you press the 7 key by itself you just get the number 7. If you hold down shift and press it, you get the & symbol instead. 2 different characters are mapped to the same key, and which one you get depends on if you're pressing shift or not.

Please, follow these steps:

Press the Windows Key + X, then select Control Panel/Settings and open Ease of Access > Keyboard. Toggle off the Use the Fn Key option.

You can also try pressing the Fn + Num Lock + Shift keys at the same time.
