I've run out of Hard Drive space..

I'm torn on whether or not I want to just go out and buy a 500gb external HDD to add to my XB1.

Two things,

--if I were to buy one, which 500gb do you recommend?

--second, how are you dealing with lack of space by deleting and re-downloading your games?? Does it take long to re-download??

anyone else having this dilemma now with all these Nov. Releases coming out?

you are allowed to attach a external hard drive so go buy a 2TB hard drive if you run out of space, problem solved

1: Seagate are a good company and if you wanted to go one further and decide on 1TB of storage space, they do pretty good cheap ones on Amazon.

2: Deleting a game to redownload / reinstall it at a later date would be just the same as doing it the first time round I am afraid.

I have the issue and have had to recently delete a bunch of games to make space for Halo and Assassins Creed. I will just get mine back in the future is I need to

I would get at least 1tb if you got a 500gb you would be back in 6 month asking the same question, i use a USB 3.0 Seagate 2tb had no problems with that, theres not a big difference in prices either.

That's what I plan to do when I fill my space up again. Invest in a 2TB one.

 

Microsoft should of gave us 1Tb drives to begin with didn't they know how big these games and patches were going to be?

 

Definitely get an external, D1NO! It's well worth it - Seagate, Western Digital, and even Toshiba make good drives for the Xbox One.

 

I have to be honest, I am totally fed up with this downloading of games I see no advantages, my Xbox 500gb drive was full in less than a year, I have to delete games that I might still be playing and then use more of my download allowance to put the games
back on this could be very costly if I go over my limit, or spend more money on bigger drives and lets face it a 10tb drive wont be big enough, gone are the days when you got a new game for Christmas and you could put it your console and play it, I got Halo
5 this Christmas and it took over 20hours to install and no option to play it whilst installing, why can't we play the game from the disk, is there actually anything on the disk. Modern consoles may be far more advanced than their previous guises but in many
ways they aren't, I could of bought a game for my 360 on Amazon Prime and played it quicker than Halo 5.

 

^^ 1) It's rather frowned upon to "bump" up 13 month old threads.

2) You might want to look into buying an external HDD. They are pretty inexpensive.

3) A little research would tell that disc drives can't read the data fast enough off of a Blu Ray disc to be able to play a game off of it. This was the case for the PS3, the PS4 & the Xbox One. This is why the console has to download the data off of
the disc.
