I've owned Minecraft Java since 2013, yet Microsoft says I can't download it?

I have been playing Minecraft Java since I was in middle school, I am now about to graduate. I got the Xbox gamepass about a month ago, and when I cancelled I never noticed anything wrong. I recently got a new PC and I'm reinstalling all my old games, yet when I try to install Minecraft it gives me a "Purchase this app again" and says how I lost it when I got a refund on the gamepass.

The issue is that it is the Minecraft Java version, in which I downloaded off of the minecraft.net website. Even though I downloaded it off of there, in which it had allowed me and said I owned it, I was unable to finish the download and play it due to this issue with Microsoft. I had to re-buy the gamepass to even play the Java version that I have owned since 2013.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm afraid the version for Windows 10 PC is different from Minecraft Java. This is the Windows 10 PC version and you either need to purchase it or get Xbox game pass again to continue playing the game

The Java version is not included with Xbox game pass version though. You might want to check with Mojang as you are trying to download it from minecraft.net.

I've tried from Minecraft website because Java Edition is not avaible on Microsoft Store.

Yes I can use credits on Microsoft Store, but can't find Minecraft Java Edition. I tought that Minecraft was a Microsoft's production, and that's why I sent a 25€ credit to my son on Microsoft account.

Is there a fix for this? Will Minecraft Java Editon be avaible on Microsoft Store?

That’s odd because if this is the Minecraft for Windows it will be purchased through Microsoft Store. The Minecraft that can be purchased through Mojang is Minecraft Java Edition.

Kindly make sure that you’re signed in under the account where the Mojang account was migrated. Please try other Microsoft accounts as well.

Thanks Francia, maybe i am mistaken and it is java edition that I own.
I would like to add that when I log into minecraft.net and click on 'Get Minecraft' > 'Minecraft Java Edition' it gives me a download option NOT a buy option and says beside it "Already own Minecraft? Download it again."

I have submitted a ticket to Mojang with screenshots of everything so hopefully, we will be able to figure this out soon.
