I've got a black ops 2 disc and it doesn't let me play it on Xbox one

I have a black ops 2 disc and since my cousin told me that it was now backwards compatible I was pumped only to find out that when I put in the disc it says I couldn't play it i tried everything on the the support I just can't get it to work

Xbox can't read my discs and black screen when I try to play

This morning I got on and wanted to play modern warfare 3 with my friends but it told me that the disc is unreadable. The disc does have a ring on it but I downloaded the game to my hard drive. I've never had this issue before so I tried to play other
games like black ops 2 and minecraft. It also told me that the disc was unreadable. Black ops 2 has barely any scratches and minecraft was downloaded from the marketplace and it still told me the disc was unreadable. Later I tried to play black ops 2 and the
game wouldn't load, it took me to a black screen and it stayed like that. Also my dashboard takes twice as long to load up than usual. I have an Xbox slim, I've only had it for two years.

I'm trying to purchase black ops II on my Xbox one and it says my account can't purchase this

my Xbox one won't let me purchase black ops 2 on my Xbox one and I don't have disc for it. Is there a way I can get the game without having to buy a Xbox 360 disc of it?

I'm sorry to hear about the issue with your Black Ops II disc. Definitely take a look at the
disc error guide and make sure you've tried every step. You'll note that the last step is using a different disc so be sure you try absolutely every thing.

If nothing works and no discs work, it sounds like the issue may lie with your disc drive. But try a different disc then come back to us and let us know how it goes.

Yes they are compatible it black ops and black ops 2 both brand new disc and work in a 360 just fine my xbox one reads and plays all xbox one disc and blu Ray's and 4k movies but will not read or play dvd movies or 360 backward compatible games I've done
system updates online and offline updates I've soft reset and hard reset and I've factory reset also and have no luck dont understand why it can read all disc except dvd and 360

Hey there guys! I understand you're having trouble playing Black Ops 2 on your consoles. Do you get disc read issues with all your games, or just some? If this only seems to happen with Black Ops 2, please try getting a replacement disc from the retailer
and try it again.

If you have the games on xbox 360 disc they work like regular xbox one discs. I have black ops 2 on disc and thats how im able to play it

I swapped disc drives between my two consoles. One could play Black Ops 2, but I bought it off ebay and it was banned from Live. So I swapped that drive with my other xbox, which cannot play black ops 2, and the new drive in it (Which CAN play Black Ops
2 in the other xbox) cannot once being installed into the xbox that could not play it. This is clearly not the drives being bad in any way.
