Ive an issue with the one making my dvds sticky.

It may sound odd but after watching a Galactica dvd for two to three hours the image will stutter and then freeze. After ejecting the disc it has visible damage about 5-6mm in plus the entire shiny side surface is tacky. Any contact at that time leaves a
semi-permanent mark that can be removed with the usual dvd cleaning techniques. So my question is this "Is the blueray player safe to watch dvd or blueray boxed sets and has anyone else had similar issues?"

Video of the DVD playback problem with xbox one....

This issue has been hard to explain but i finally managed to get a screen video with a digital cam i had to show what i exsperiance with dvd playback. This issue doesnt happen on blu ray movies, only DVD's While this problem is more noticable on certain
dvds ive found the problem to be on every dvd ive tested with some movies being hard to spot this.

At 0:24 on this video is where its most noticable, when it switches scene when the guy walks in, look at his head and how it seems to double for a split second. It usaully happens during scene changes.

Im not sure but it seem more like a software codec problem, ive exsperianced this before on a pc DVD player that had bad codecs. Has anyone else noticed this issue?

NOTE: It isnt the dvd, this dvd doesnt do this on my 360 or ps3.

Blu Ray Player will not read movies

Having the same issue no DVD movie or Blu-ray movie will work in Xbox one, I get black screen with message please insert disc. The same discs work fine in my regular DVD player and the DVD works without an issue on my Xbox 360 but not on the xbox one

If you are able you should take your system into the store to ensure that the optical drive is functioning correctly, sticky substances are not likely coming from the drive as lubricants are typically used in electrical builds, sticky or adhesive materials
depositing on the disc is not usual.

The Xbox One does not allow for recording of footage through the HDMI-IN.

Think about if you have a DVD player or your TV going through the HDMI-IN, that could lead to some very sticky issues with recording TV shows and DVDs.

Technically, it can record what is going on the screen, but because of legal issues, it doesn't allow it.

Why should I bother owning an Xbox if I constantly have to struggle to play a DVD ? and am the only one in the house that can get it to work. My Sony PS4 and all off the shelf DVD players work without issue or problem, which seems to prove it can
be done. Making a DVD player that simply works. M y Xbox One has been serviced for this problem by microsoft, but the problem is still there. And again, no other system in my house has this problem, so it probably is not my tv or anything else. I am pretty
sure we will never buy another xbox and will abandon this platform. Real shame.

Ive never had this problems with any disc device is the 26 years ive used them. Also you need to remember every platform has this problem its simply how it works there is bound to be problems when you make so many

ive got that to and it seems a cant do anything on my xbox one cant even play a dvd

What DVD are you trying to play? What prevents you from playing the DVD? Did you make sure that the DVD matches your region, and isn't imported?

All 200+ DVDs and BluRays in my collection work perfectly fine on my Xbox One X as well as my old original Day One Xbox One.
