It's a 10 year old architecture.. how hard can it be to shrink the CPU/GPU/Memory architecture and shrink it down to a chip or at least a very small system board? Use a SSD on a chip for storage. No need for DVD.. keep it digital. Put it all into a tablet
form factor with game pad controls on either side (think Wii U Gamepad), and boom...you've got yourself a pretty sweet mobile gaming platform with a HUGE library of games.

How do you play your X360 games you ask? Simple.. allow you to connect it to XBOX ONE to transfer games digitally to the device. Think about it... if you want this mobile platform and have a huge library of games for X360, how motivated will you be to
    buy an Xbox One now??

Price it at $199.. I think it would sell and be a real threat to the DS. Thoughts?

    :)

    Xbox portable console

MS is totally missing an opportunity. They should shrink the Xbox360 down to a portable form factor and let that be their mobile console. Then re-brand 360 games for digital distribution, put it up on the Xbox store, and boom, instant player in the handheld
    market!

Xbox One becomes their main platform, and X360 (rebranded Xbox Portable) becomes the mobile platform.

Why they don't figure this out is beyond me!

    xbox handheld a bad idea?

should Microsoft create a handheld device like 3DS or Vita? (and don't say Windows Phone 7, the games on that thing is way to casual... for me anyway)
Casual or not, that's the direction they're going. There's nothing that
stops later iterations of Windows Phone from requiring heftier GPU and CPU resources in mobile devices. More CPU and GPU means more game functions. It's happening on the iPhone front. It's only a matter of time on the Windows Phone front.
Why should they? Why build yet another separate device? Mobile gaming is converging on smartphones. Why change that?
No matter what people say, the Cell phone is about as much of a gaming platform to me as the PC... Not. I've already read articles from last year that PR people have stated, "It's not a matter of If, it's a matter of when.

So yes, MS needs an official handheld. Not some NOVELTY of a gaming platform... the Mobile phone. All my gaming is done on consoles and handhelds and I don't need PC or Mobile phone gaming anymore than I need to grow another foot. Seriously I have no
idea how people have the time for one platform much less more. I have so much content on the 360, I don't even care to buy another console.

The handheld will happen eventually, I know it.

I don't think dedicated handhelds really have a market anymore with Tablets and smartphones out there.

Nintendo seem to be the exception to the rule but they've been at it for well over 20 years.

When I can put thousands of games on my phone to take with me. I can't see me buying a dedicated device I'd also have to carry with me.

  5. Not currently possible. PowerPC architecture can't be scaled down to that size yet and it's not low powered from the get go like ARM and MIPS. In the future, possibly but not right now.

    Minecraft vr

It is certainly possible given MS's stance on sharing Minecraft with all platforms. Don't forget about Minecraft Earth, coming soon to mobile platforms!!
