False rumors, anyone with even a trivial knowledge of M$ products can say with absolute certainty they're not dropping or selling Xbox. First off, it's now profitable (took 8 years) why sell now? Xbox in integrated into Windows 8 and Phone OS, they're going
to drop an integral part of their network? Selling cost - a deal of this magnitude would be multiple billions, and not a small multiple. I've heard so many doom stories about Xbox, truth is it's here to stay and M$ are, and will continue to be, the drivers.

 

I wouldn't mind Amazon and MS working out a deal so that Amazon can sell digital codes for the Marketplace.

Amazon owning the Xbox brand would be messy.

While a have no interest in an Amazon owned console; I have even less interest in Steam. If the rumors were true, it would just mean my PS4 becomes the main console and the X1 gets given to one of my nephews. They are probably hoping the rumors are true.

There's not much on this I see at the moment if I see more things than just a rumor it can be plausible. Like an asking/negotiating price ill be looking into this but I dont see it happening any time soon since MS just sunk a bunch of money into it to develop

Let's say this is true......i HIGHLY doubt it, but just for arguments sake, let's say its true. Why would it be "time to move on from the world of xbox"? Do you think Amazon would buy the division and then just shut it down???

Amazon very quietly over the years has become a MONSTER of a company with cash to burn. If they bought xbox, they would be doing so to be able to jump in head first into the gaming world and would be ready to go full steam ahead with competing with Sony
and Nintendo.

So, from a gamer perspective, I doubt we would see little change.

 

The only reason I bought the original X Box was because of the Microsoft branding; same reason I bought Zune over Apple. Amazon shall never see a penny from me, as I do not care for their business practices.

It has been rumored, but this was mere speculation of a hint, that we are going to blow up the moon. Now I don't know nothing about blowing up no moon but I say we all invest in Sun stock because that's where the money is. Keeping in mind this is just a

Yeah, I call BS. If Microsoft was seriously considering selling off the Xbox division I highly doubt they would be throwing money hand over foot to lock down exclusives, buying IP's, and securing rights to media. Besides, doesn't anyone else find it a little
suspicious that these rumors always seem to pop up at the most opportune time for Sony.

- Titanfall beta is live, first impressions are positive, it looks and runs better than previously "reported" by industry insiders. - "psst, I heard Microsoft is selling off the Xbox brand to Amazon, it'll be awesome. Of course they'll have to work out the
whole Microsoft infrastructure thing so there will probably be a few hiccups ... and they'll probably switch over to Android but it'll be cool."



These guys are either getting paid to spread as much fud as possible, or are morons that are being used by people who are.

 

from what i have deduced from all of this chatter, is that microsoft wants to spin xbox off into it own entity (make it more, if not totally self sufficient). I wouldn't really mind that. Still owned by M$, I cant see microsoft dropping a multi billion dollar
piece of their company, when they have just invested billions into it.
