It's Over Boys, Xbox Could Be Sold To Amazon

As we have seen since before the Xbox One was even announced, insiders are usually right.

Here's something juicy. Apparently, Amazon is looking for gaming assets and Microsoft is looking to drop Xbox. Talks have been in place since before the Xbox One was announced.

This guy has a pretty good track record, so take from it what you may.

Time to move on from the world of Xbox and to the world of Steam.

@Paullio: I could be completely wrong here, but I believe in the US, Amazon uses UPS exclusively (if actually sold by Amazon,and not a merchant).

[/quote]You apparently didn't read the article, or bother to check Amazon yourself... The PS4 launch edition is sold out on Amazon (all bundles). Also, could you please supply the variable so I can do the math? How many XBones were pre sold through Amazon
and Best Buy? How many PS4s?

 

Hopefully this isn't true. I can see Amazon pushing digital titles a bit too hard and not having the experience to create another good console.

If this happens any time soon then I will of course be holding on to my Xbone and using it but I can imagine it not going all too well and me jumping ship when the next generation lands.

 

I remember when my old nieghbor who worked for EA sports at the time here in FL told me that the original Xbox would be discontinued in a year or two and to not buy one lol

 

In the UK the Original Xbox took a huge price drop very quickly and generally didn't do all that great. It was discontinued long before the PS2. Then look at the 360, it was amazing! That goes to show what practice can achieve but if Amazon take over and
don't get it right, they'll soon end up like Sega and in 10 years you'll be playing Halo on a Playstation.

 

I'm not going to buy a PlayStation, that's for sure. My original Xbox account has been around since 360 year one, plus, I just generally don't like the PlayStation. Furthermore, rather switch to Steam than continue my Xbox journey with Amazon.

Rumors are just that...rumors. OP may not understand investing or markets. Takes a rumor from a game centric blog and acknowledges it as truth. What stocks do you think people would make a killing on if you were right. People would be dumping or buying

I see no problem with Amazon buying the xbox division. Why would I stop using my xb1? That line of thinking makes no sense to me.

Amazon is the largest online retailer by far and they would probably do a better job supporting it.

 

So what if Amazon buys the Xbox division? It's about the games. Don't you forget that OP.

 

rumour that Amazon will buy and continue with XB1 Vs rumour that Sony has zero capital and will liquidize its PS brand vs rumour that steam = over priced pc for tv and that any 20 foot HDMI cable would make more sense?

I hope this is merely hearsay, because if this happens, Microsoft is dead to me.

I'm also amazed by the fact that fans of the Xbox brand outside of Brazil seem not to care about these negative speculations about Microsoft get rid of Xbox Division.

Fans of the Xbox brand need to charge a specific positioning and honest from Microsoft on this subject that there are shareholders forcing Microsoft to sell the Xbox Division.

 

As long as the games keep coming it dosent matter to me who owns the xbox brand

 

There have been people on the board of directors that have wanted this for years. They are minor partners but want MS to focus solely on office software etc... They have never won a vote tho...
