  1. It's August: Does Microsoft intend to fix the issues with X1 anytime this year?

The question is facetious, and I admit this given I know the team's working on improving the console, but it's been extremely disappointing I've spent $500 on this console and it's not been what I'd deem "entertaining". Slowly, I'm using it more, and the
more I use it, the more I want to smash it up into pieces and send it back, demanding a refund. It's so frustrating, to the point that I'm losing confidence these issues are ever going to be fixed. So, the question stands, for me. The UI on the X1 is horrible,
no, it's HORRIBLE! The tiles have no rhyme or reason to them, and I'm *** I have to hop over all these UNNECESSARY blocks just to get to a point on the UI I need to. Take, for example, "Store". When I get there, all the "storefronts" are clear to the right
hand side. What in the world does this serve? It takes me three hops to go from the "Store" top menu just to get to "Games" on the right hand side. I see absolutely no reason why this poor UI still exists on the console given it's been nearly 3/4 of a year
of being out. So far, every visual "enhancement" hasn't fixed the real problem. Once I do access an option, and decide to "go back", rather than returning to the previous menu level of the view I'm on, the UI forces me complete out of the entire tree structure
and puts me back to step 1. For example, if I'm reading details of a game, press "B", I'm taken all the way out the Store's Game main page. Does anyone at Microsoft not understand how frustrating this is for users? It's nice Microsoft wants to push for an
entertainment system, streaming content and downloading the "latest hits", but memory serves that Microsoft also invested a great deal of money increasing the number of servers, right? Then someone explain to me why it takes nearly an hour do download a 5GB
file. I'd rather this ability be provided to my ISP than through the X1 console because I could have this file in less than 10 minutes. Think it's not a problem? Think again, because EVERY SINGLE GAME I have tried to download has been interrupted, forcing
me to restart it. I've only experienced this issue once with the 360, and that's only because our power blipped off for a second. I can't even download these games without having to babysit them because if the download stops while in the background, WE GET
NO NOTICE THE DOWNLOAD WAS INTERRUPTED. Yes, I yelled, because this all comes right down to poor UI servicing us on the console. My other issue I've been having is trying to find anything on this infernal setup. During the Destiny Beta, I wanted to copy/transfer
my save file because I wanted to delete the Beta, but keep the save file for the game when it's released next month. I can't find it anywhere. I found where I can manage my storage, but there's nothing there to indicate I have any save files at all, or avatar
items, or anything else except the game. Is this going to be fixed this year? Better yet, is anything going to be fixed this year? I get there are small issues people make a big deal about, like battery notices for the controller (rather ridiculous this was
even an issue to begin with) and how "App this or that isn't available", but before Microsoft fixes these issues that don't really matter, how about it fixes the UI? Because without the UI, none of the rest of the fixes matter. My apologies for pounding this
drum again, but I think I'm going to start doing it with ever "update" released and the UI isn't fixed. Squeaky wheel, and all that. It's rather disgusting, honestly, I have to resort to this form of communication since it seems the complaints of the UI are
falling on deaf ears. Said my piece. Have a nice day.

    :)

  3. So now what happens to the 360?

I have heard Microsoft does intend to support the system for a little after the release of the X1, they've always said they wanted 10 years out of the console so if they do support it after X1 it probably will only be for 2 more years.

  5. Well why don't you pound your drum in the right channels?

You wasting space in general discussion and no one here really cares about peoples UI Complaints.

Also no one from Xbox or MS reads this section of forum so good job wasting your time on that jumbled wall of text that no one will read.

I kinda wish I did not.

while i don't disagree with the points made, i don't believe any of it is that horrible, more like a annoyance. i would like to see the subcategories in the store on the left instead of the right, and hitting B would go back to the store instead of the home
screen, but it's just little things like that to give the UI more polish.

i'd personally prefer they focus on bugs and features before polishing the UI.

The downloads need restarted? I have closed down the console mid download and it just resumes on startup, slow downloads? Seriousley they download fast, u need to speedtest your connection it sounds like your provider is messing you about.

I have no problem navigating menus.

What game do you copy the saves for? When you delete a game it keeps your saves, and destiny is not only a beta meaning you game progression wont be useable on release but also an mmo, most now save progression to their servers so it cant be manipulated.

I feel sorry that it gets you so upset, but it seems a lot of small problems have added up, i hope answers and advice you get will help you sort them out and get you on the road to Chillingdom.

My entire Xbox One collection is Digital, never had an issue with downloads. As for the UI, it's a matter of preference I guess, some will like it, others won't. It's all based on the Windows 8 metro style look, that is not going to change. You can learn
to live with it, or you can go out and sell your console because you don't like the interface, that is totally up to you.

the UI is easier navigated by voice commands... None of this go home, open apps direct to SyFy App, click it... Xbox go to Syfy.. SO MUCH EASIER

but to each their own I guess

@Violynne B. You're not alone in your frustrations, a lot of people do agree with you...just probably not on Xbox.com.

While I do think the store menu would be better served for us on the left rather than the right, I can see why they did it that way - it forces you to cross over the area known as their "point of sell" which increases the chances of someone seeing something
they might like (say a GWG or DwG) and making a purchase. It's a business strategy, pure and simple, just like any other store (physical stores will usually place their "point of sell" at the front of the store) - it's the same concept, but done on a digital
    storefront instead.

  15. I have a few minor gripes with the UI like everyone else has I'm sure, but for the most part I think it's actually really good, IMO.
