Almost tempted to return this console for a competitor if Microsoft doesn't respond with some sort of an answer. I've Been with Xbox since the original over 10 years ago.

x USR i feel the same. been searching all day, still can't launch games or apps and don't wanna lose thousands of hours in my minecraft builds doing a factory reset. also have had xboxes since halo ce and this just isn't acceptable. seriously considering
a ps4 on black friday.

Actually, before the factory reset, does it do the same with any other accounts on your console? If you don't have any, if you can, try adding one and see if it does the same thing. If it works for the second account, remove and redownload your profile.

It also looks like not having 3 security proofs can cause similar issues. You can check your security proofs here:
account.live.com/.../Manage

In addition, if you played the game while connected to Live last time, your save games and settings will be in the cloud, and resync the first time you play if you do a factory reset.

looks like removing and re-downloading the profile may have worked

Mine does this as well. I usually have to do full reset (hold button on console until it turns off).

After that, it takes a bit to recognize my wifi. Then I need to acknowledge the message that says my external drive is ready to use to recognize that. After all that, it is pretty good to go. My internet is slow, so that can account for how long it takes
for the stores to work. But usually playing a game is pretty quick after this.

It's a hassle because I have to do it every time I power it back up.

I have been experiencing these issues since the Preview of the update rolled out. I am on the latest update but have had to reset using the USB Restore method almost 12 times since October. Twice today. The system becomes sluggish and the console fails
to recognize input from the controller(s). Resetting doesn't take too long but what does is when I have to synch my save files. Fallout 4 takes more than 30 minutes.

Thank goodness I have an external HD so that all my games are stored there. Don't have to reinstall them when I have to do a reset.

@ x USR If it were me in your situation, I would try a factory reset next. It sounds like something went wrong during your last update, and a factory reset will reinstall the update. If you decide to try that, you will have to reinstall any games or apps
that are installed on your internal hard drive, so if possible, I would move everything to an external drive. Someone else may have a different suggestion, but if it were me in your situation, that's what I would try next.

Hey there. You may be able to fix this with a full reboot of the console. Open the guide, go to the Settings tab, then Restart console. Try again after that

Dude. I am having the same problem. After the latest update, half my games do not work on xbox one, and neither do most apps. Others work fine. But the ones that do not I can not uninstall or select. When I try to launch them from the Game hub, the
screen just flickers on and off.

Plus the so called "updated menus" are garbage.

I don't know that there was an update, but when you have an issue it's always a good idea to check for updates. Release notes for all OS versions can be found here:
