Items in XBOX Dashboard Unresponsive

I just recently bought an XBOX One, and when I try and select any of the options inside of Settings > Account in the dashboard nothing happens. For example, if I select "Subscriptions" within Settings > Account I see the circle come up and spin for a second
then nothing. The same thing happens for every option in this category.

finally got factory reset to work after mashing the A button, hopefully this fixes the issue...

unable to select anything, I can see that the A button works, xbox is just unresponsive. I've tried hard resetting several times, with no luck. and since im unable to select any options factory reset is also out. any other suggestions? cuz im out of ideas....

 

Hey there. You may be able to fix this with a full reboot of the console. Open the guide, go to the Settings tab, then Restart console. Try again after that

Is anyone signed in when you are trying to do this? I was trying to duplicate this on my console, and when no one was signed in, it seemed to not like to do anything in the Account settings.

If so, I would next try a network test (Settings, Network, Network settings, Test network connection, and Test multiplayer connection) and see if you get any errors there. Most of the account settings for me pulled up the spinner and then popped in my information
that I assume came from the Live servers.

Also, make sure your system is up to date (Settings, System, Console info & updates).

I would also try turning off the console from the Settings tab of the guide, and then unplugging the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes

 

Make sure system is up to date are you serious? Even since this new update nothing but problems , and now there is a other system update for what ? What's the new update for it a new just came out ?

Updates are periodically released to fix bugs and issues.

 

So then what has it fixed there was just a new one for what ?

 

I don't know that there was an update, but when you have an issue it's always a good idea to check for updates. Release notes for all OS versions can be found here:

Dude. I am having the same problem. After the latest update, half my games do not work on xbox one, and neither do most apps. Others work fine. But the ones that do not I can not uninstall or select. When I try to launch them from the Game hub, the
screen just flickers on and off.

Plus the so called "updated menus" are garbage.

 

If no one is signed in it prompts me to sign in. I have done multiple hard resets and checked for updates. Nothing has been able to solve this problem thus far

 

Man whats going on with Microsoft? Been with Microsoft for 12 years and this is the first time with so many problems now I'm afraid o down load the latest update that just came out 2 days ago

 

@ x USR If it were me in your situation, I would try a factory reset next. It sounds like something went wrong during your last update, and a factory reset will reinstall the update. If you decide to try that, you will have to reinstall any games or apps
that are installed on your internal hard drive, so if possible, I would move everything to an external drive. Someone else may have a different suggestion, but if it were me in your situation, that's what I would try next.
