OP: Games and consoles prices are higher in UK ( not only the Xbox one or others Microsoft product).....

This is unexpectected to have a price drop (in UK ) ,so soon,but it's a smart move from Microsoft.....

Ok Ghostz i get it you hate Sony, what about Apple you hate them too ? i'm a gamer i owned Sony consoles, Nintendo and Sega. I don't swear allegiance to anyone. But i know things change so quickly in the games industry. At the moment Sony have the edge
and have so since last year. Microsoft made it very easy for Sony this time, that's nothing to do with Sony but more to do with Microsoft. Sony announced a games console back in 2013 when Microsoft announce a multi media machine with DRM and Kinect. Microsoft
still think they can make a killing in today's market by attracting the Wii audience with Kinect. If they want to pursue that market so be it, but it alienates me and always will. I glad Sony dropped those issues you bring up Ghostz, it is very unfair to
force things on people and then expect you to pay through the nose.

Microsoft actually need to appeal to the gamer with a product that gives them what they want at a reasonable price. So far they are failing to do that, hence todays price cut in the uk. But they are trying to put things right i appreciate that, whether
that's too late or not only time will tell.

 

You do realize that 399 pounds is roughly $700 in U.S. currency. Not really sure how the market works here but since the Xbox is a U.S. based system it's cheaper in the U.S. the export import is going to cause the price everywhere else to increase. So
of course you give the price break to those that pay more for the system. You think an X1 costs $500 in Japan? But you are welcome to pay the new 399 pound price for your U.S. bought system.

 

Tzar i'm not that surprised really by the news. I know my country well and Microsofts RRP for their product was always going to cause them problems especially after the holidays. What will be interesting is the response in sales they get in a few weeks
and in March.

Was a little surprised to see this today. Saw a Xbox One for £350 in Cash Generator and £360 in game. Now once they reach £250/£200 that is when I might bite.

At the end of the day these forums now are alienated, you have a few X Box One early adopters who only believe in what they preach. They show no compassion towards fellow 360 owners even though the 360 is Microsoft's bread and butter at the moment. Microsoft
will make more money with the 360 then the One in 2014 and yet 360 owners with different views to the One are ridiculed and ganged up on by XBOners.

You guys will defend your purchase to the death even though it is flawed in a lot of ways. Even today in another thread you have a early American owner moaning about us brits getting reduced price and free copy of Titanfall, no compassion to the high price

That said, the "No price cut" guess was probably the most educated guess if you had done your homework and research on past generations. MS typically likes to bundle more stuff with the console rather than reduce price on weaker markets.

 

Prediction... Sony offers similar discount/promotion on one of its exclusives this year and @wild calls it a brilliant Marketing strategy.
