It takes Two does not save gameplay in local

Hi,

I purchased the game (for xbox one s) after it had a free trial just to realize that it does not save any progress in the game.
I have played the game in "play local" and it does not save the gameplay, or it saves it but is lost if the game closes.

I have tried to clear xbox cache, game files, reinstall game, delete local game files etc. all saves disappear when game closes. What could I do? Also it does not show any saved data when checking "manage game files"

Hello Dreisoc, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I've been doing some research on this problem and it seems a lot of people have been experiencing issues with saving. My suggestion here would be to push through in the chapter you're on until you see the book icon in the lower right corner. That means the game is auto saving your progress.

When you restart the game be sure to select Continue and not Chapter. This should take you to your last spot.

However, if you still have trouble with saving in the game I would recommend getting in touch with EA Support for more help. https://help.ea.com

All of your local progress is gone. The progress from your last successful sync still exists in the cloud. In many games, Forza Horizon 4 one of them, the game does not save your progress until you complete the tutorial (and often a mission or two).

With clearing out the local save and the cache, you should be good to go with a fresh sync of what was on the cloud. Good luck and see you in game!

Does this mean none of my save games will work with a new account? I have hours of gameplay saved!

I understand you would like to try to fix this problem but there seem to be two listed explanations and solutions for your issue.

The first would be to take your console offline, power cycle the console, install the game, then bring your console back online.

The second would be for digital or disc. Open up settings and head to the storage section and clear your local saved games. This will clear locally saved games but not saves in the cloud nor will it uninstall games.

Thanks so much for the response. To be extra clear, I'm not curious about COOP in general, but couch coop in specific - two people playing seated next to each other with controllers plugged into the computer. Is that possible if the title supports couch/local COOP (e.g. 'It Takes Two' supports local coop on an Xbox console, so does the PC game pass version support the same feature?)
