  1. It seems Fallout 4 has killed my console

So a week or so ago I went to play Fallout and it would freeze the game. My console would still work, I could still browse the UI, but it would be sluggish, and I would be unable to load any app or other game. So I deleted my F4 installation and deleted
the save data locally. Reinstalled, sync'd my data for F4, and it worked fine.

Fast forward to this morning, the same situation pops up again. I decide to skip deleting my installation and just delete the saved data locally. I reboot and load up Fallout 4, it starts to sync. Awesome! But there is never any progress. I let it sit for
over 20 minutes and it's still just saying "syncing data for Fallout 4" or whatever. Then the system locks up.

I do another hard reboot. Now it starts to take the system a loooooong time to boot up. I load up Madden 16, it loads, unlike Fallout. But it loads slow. It eventually freezes and I close out of it. I go to settings and try to find a way to factory reset the
console as I start to think the HDD is dead or dying or just needs to be wiped. I don't find one, so I talk to Xbox support. The first guy gives me the link with all the different OS versions for a USB update, says good luck, and closes the chat. So I do what
the link says and it makes the console even worse. It doesn't even boot at all now. My TV sits on a blue screen as if there is no input connected.

I tried the correct update version over USB, nothing. I tried the factory reset download it gives you, nothing. When I hold the bind and eject buttons together, the system lets out an error alert because the console has no disc to eject. I hold them and
turn the console on, nothing happens. I have held for as long as 4 minutes and never got the two quick successive power on beeps you're supposed to get.

So I let it sit for 10 minutes and try another support. This one tries to steer me to the same webpage. 20 minutes after I start talking to her, the green Xbone screen shows up on my TV. But... I took the flash drive out. I removed my ethernet cable as the
Microsoft help page instructed. The agent told me it must be reading the update off the flash drive and installing and it might take 45 minutes. I tried to explain the USB drive was no longer in there, but she quickly offered to continue helping me over email
    and was gone.

Now I basically have a situation where no matter what I try to do when powering on the console, it just kind of sits there. It doesn't seem as if I will be able to do an offline update, or do the factory reset via USB. Whatever Fallout 4 did really stunned
my console and then the link Microsoft gave me seems to have put it down for the count.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is it normal for the offline USB update to start updating even though you don't hear the beeps, or is the MS agent wrong? What could be causing the console to just basically sit there and not even accept the button prompts
to check for and install a new update over USB?

Worst part is the 2nd agent tried to sell me on a repair for over $100. LOL. Yeah, I'm gonna pay MS to repair my console that a game they certified ended up breaking, in a 1-2 combo with their support basically giving me a link to a pretty technical repair
process and just telling me good luck. If they don't wanna meet me halfway or something then I guess I'll be using my PS4 a heck of a lot more.

    :)

    Never Received Fallout 3 Code

I pre-ordered Fallout 4 digital version on 10/16/2015 directly from the Xbox store on my console. It was during the "Free Fallout 3 with digital purchase of Fallout 4" promotional sale. I checked my messages regularly, but I have still yet to receive a Fallout
3 code as it has been well over 10 days bordering 30 days after Fallout 4's release (nearly 60 days after purchase).

It seems Fallout 4 has killed my console

    It seems the
    Offline Diagnostics
(which I know you tried) might've been the best option.

Alternatively you could register the console and start the repair process and it will explain for sure if you're out or warranty etc. Just to make sure you're really out. I'd suggest checking out the repair links
    here.

  5. Yeah that's exactly the link support sent me and it did nothing but make it worse. Where before the console would eventually boot up, now it does nothing at all.

I bought the console in February of 2014. My warranty expired almost a year ago.

Ok, just wanted to make sure. Anything else you would have to set that up or sort it out with phone support. Sorry to hear that. It seems Fallout 4 has killed my console :(

  7. Hi buddy,

Just a tip, I had an issue that required the factory boot from USB and I also had trouble with the sync, eject, power button presses. I found that if you press and hold them in the right order it works better, rather than trying to press them all at once.
    Sync, then eject then power.

Thanks for the tip, will try. I think that is the normal sequence I use, though.

I just get no audible beeps whatsoever. The console just sits there.

  9. So I formatted both thumb drives again, unzipped both the 3rd update and factory reset files onto them, and tried both using that sequence. Still nothing. The console will just sit there with the power light on making very little noise for at least 15 minutes.

However... I left it running, took my son to day care, came home and it was on the home screen. With all of my content intact. So I don't know. But the system was still buggy and sluggish. So I went to setting GS and did the factory reset. The console seemed
as if it would restart so I left it and went to work. Will update in a couple hours.

It doesn't look like the process I see in videos of other people doing the reset. And I still get no beeps when trying to boot and force the USB check. So I'm guessing it's still going to be ***.

  10. Ok so an update, my console seemed like it was working again but it's still ***.

Fallout would load, but run incredibly slow, 10 minute loading screens, constant freezes.

No digital games would work, MS says it's a license issue. How can I have a license issue on my home console for games I bought on said console? Apps load fine. Games that are digital will show the initial game screen, then instead of transitioning into
loading the game, I get a blue screen for half a second then it boots me back to the home screen.

It's clear I have some sort of software issue. Idk why else digital games won't load for me, only the physical Fallout 4 and apps. But when I try to do the offline diagnostics system update, just to try and maybe completely restore everything fresh, I get
an E101 error. It starts to update, then E101. Anyone have any experience with this error?

  12. Still no solid word from support about anything that could have possibly caused this to happen, what my error code means, or how this can be fixed. I am so tired of having to retell the entire situation to every single support agent that I chat with. What
is the point of reference numbers if the agents either ignore what they say, or they don't really say anything?

Is there any sort of advanced support chat or forum help anywhere? This is getting old. The last agent a couple nights ago asked me to email them some information off the Xbox so they could test it on their own hardware and try to isolate the problem. Nevermind
the fact that thanks to their terrible support, I can no longer even boot the console to get that information. How exactly do they expect to replicate the exact problem I had with Fallout? So stupid.
