It says i have to re-buy minecraft

My son and i both own minecraft and we have for a couple of years now, i wanted to play with him on my new laptop but when i log into my or his microsoft account it says i dont own it anymore and that i have to re buy it. it wont work on his or my account. we migrated our accounts with some difficulties not too long ago and were able to play but now it dosnt work at all. we both logged onto our accounts and it shows that we never owned it in the first place

i have now just went to my old computer and now its telling me to play demo on me and my sons account what do i do

This may mean that you're signed in under the wrong Microsoft account or the migration is not successful.

Kindly sign in to this link and check if you can see the license for the Minecraft Java Edition game: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/profile

Also, sign out and sign back in on the Minecraft launcher. Use all Microsoft accounts that you own.

Try to remove the profile that has the game, then turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console and sign in and try again!

If the issue persists, try to soft reset your console: Select System > Settings > System > Console info > Select Reset console > Choose Reset and keep my games and apps.

The disc is inside the Xbox? If not you need to insert the disc

If the disc is inside

Remove the disc

Turn off the Xbox console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.

Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Plug the console power cable back in.

Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox

Insert the disc during the Xbox screen

If you downloaded Minecraft on the account you're trying to play it with, then as long as you're connected to Live, you should be able to play the full version. I suggest doing a license transfer to your new system to transfer the game (and all other downloaded
content) right to your new system. After doing that, try downloading it again.
