It says I have an Xbox Live Subscription for a year (because I do) but will not allow online ...

I'm having the same problem as GrubbierQuill89 because when I try to go online it says I need to join xbox live when I already have a xbox live subscription

It currently says that I am a Gold member that has a subscription that expires on 12/27/15. However, this is exclusively online, my Xbox says I do not have the subscription. If I try entering it again, it says that I am only allowed to have one allowed at
a time. I don't know if this will help, but I no longer get the auto renewal, having canceled it immediately. Thanks in advance.

It will share your Xbox live gold with your kids but will only show the subscription active under your account in the subscriptions in settings.

Is it saying that they need to buy xbox live? This means that console is not set as your home console.

Is it saying that this profile does not allow playing online? This would be in the online safety and security settings that you would need to allow them to play online multiplayer.

Now there is One publisher (EA) that I am aware of that no matter what settings you have set for your Child accounts they will not be able to play their games online.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft, and the error is still appearing... I do not have Xbox Live at the moment, but I'm only trying to play LAN, which I thought you were still able to do without the subscription.

Plus, the error message says nothing about needing Xbox Live to join. Here's the full error message again:

"You cannot play online multiplayer because of how your Microsoft Account is set up. Please ensure your online safety settings allow Multiplayer. See instructions for changing these settings at aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp."

Incredibly confused....

I am having the same issue... I can see I am a gold member on the xbox dashboard but when I try to play MW3 multiplayer it says my subscription does not allow me to play online!! Please help?! $60 a year for this is not worth it!!!
