It keeps on saying installation stopped

Sorry to hear you are having installation issues. Do you have other games on disc you can install and that do install? If possible, do you know anyone else who can try and install it?

Also does the disc have any scratches even small ones especially near the centre?

I understand the problem you are having, with the intention of helping you I am going to suggest taking some steps to solve the problem. To do this you must follow the steps correctly in order, the first thing we are going to do is turn the console off and on (Known as a power cycle):

1. Turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it turns off completely.
2. Unplug the console power cord from the console and electrical outlet. Wait 5 minutes.
3. Plug the console power cable back in.
4. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

After completing these steps, you must delete and add your profile again in the console. If you don't know how to do it, you can access the following link:

As a last option recommended by me, it would be good to perform a reset on your console while keeping your games and applications. To do this, you must follow these steps:

Go to Settings > System > About system > reset, then select keep my games and apps.

it keeps saying that it starts to update but then says install stopped. for no reason.

Mine is stuck at 95% and it keeps on saying: "Installation Stopped".
