Mister Beep, this has absolutely nothing to do with Windows Update!

Instead, it is a driver update only available through the device manager.

That is definitely correct as well, however after plugging the adapter you all should receive a Windows Update with the correct driver. If you've already downloaded the driver through Device Manager, you should be set to go! If you run into any further issues,
please let us know!

HELP! my controller seems to be able to connect to my computer via usb cable and the wireless adapter but the Xbox accessories app is unable to detect a controller. When I first connected the controller via wireless adapter, it was able to detect it and
there were some driver updates, but it disconnected halfway through and after many retries, I have yet to be able to make Xbox Accessories detect controller.

"You must update the drivers:

Click "Network Adapter" to expand the menu and right-click "Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows" > Update Driver Software > Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software"

This fixed the audio issue I was having with the controller connected via the Wireless Adapter (it worked via USB but not wirelessly until I manually updated said network adapter driver). Thanks!

I checked the Xbox Accessories App as well. After starting it, i can see a picture of my Xbox Controller without any further functionality? What the f*** is that app about?
