Issues With Xbox One Headset

I treat all my electronics with great care, and today out of the blue my second Xbox One headset stopped allowing me to talk. I shouldn't have to buy an overpriced headset to be able to talk to my friends, and I also shouldn't have to buy a new headset every
6 months to talk to my friends. A lot of of my friends are also on there 3rd or 4th mic before they just bought Turtle Beaches it's ridiculous. I never had any problems with mics on the 360 that weren't my fault and it is sad that these are such poor build

Xbox One S and Official Stereo Headset Adapter not recognized

We have two of the
Xbox Stereo Headset with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

At this point I believe thousands are experiencing the same issues as yourself. This is on Microsoft's end, I'm 99% sure. It's sad they've not mentioned it at all. All we can do is hope Microsoft will acknowledge this sooner than later...

 

Yep, I played destiny for a few hours while in party chat and everything was fine. Took a break for an hour or two and got back on and regrouped in a party with friends. This time however, I can hear the 3 others but for my self my sound was not registering.
There is obvious power going to the headset firstly because I am able to hear through it, also the mute button and volume settings work. My headset circle in the party does not light up when talking.

Have tried all the suggestions on the suggestion page just to name a few

-hard reset

-tried other controllers

-kinect mic works

-checked nat settings, all good

-assigned to another profile

-update everything, controller, controller with mic in it, console etc etc

Nada. Quite frustrating how it was fine a few hours ago and now all of a sudden it does not function 100%, I mean obviously I threw on the ground and stomped on it right? I mean come on, how does it stop working after just simply setting it down on my desk?
