Issues with Xbox harassment and reports

I was told by MS rep Cate to post my concerns with being harassed by multiple people via text and voice messages. Reports have been filed and I was told my gamertag can be changed as I have not been given the 1 free change that most accounts are allowed.
My gamertag is DiamondEyez76 and my case # is [Mod removed]

Comm Suspension

So because I reported repeated harassment by a homophobic member, *I* get a comm suspension? This is how Xbox enforcement works? And if that's the case, why should anyone bother to report harassment at all?

 

You have been given the wrong info.

The gamertag you have is not a generated tag so it has been changed already,if you want to change it again you will have to pay like everyone else.

Excuse me, no need to be rude. I'm simply passing the information on that your representative told me. So the system generated gamertag is counted against you, I was not aware of that. All of my issues have been reported via the proper channels, yet the
harassment continues, Cate advised that enforcement could assist with the change due to the circumstances without me being penalized.

 

The enforcement team will only issue a forced gamertag change if the gamertag violates the code of conduct. There is no way to get a free change.

Like I said,you have been given the wrong info,support often send people here but have no idea how the forums work,the enforcement team do not read these forums,they only read the ban/suspension forums & that's to answer a querie about a ban/suspension.

The only time you get a free name change is within 30 days of starting your account,you can change it from the generated tag to a personal one.

You get your tag changed to a generated one if your tag violates the code of conduct,which yours does not,so you would still have to pay to change it again.

If you have blocked someone they shouldn't be able to send you any messages.The only other thing I can suggest is setting comms to friends only.

 

What if you're gamertag is being reported just to harass you? For example; you play a round of COD, playing fairly and only speaking to your teammates giving call outs. You don't be vulgar, offensive, or anything, BUT you just so happened to have played
with an old friend who got mad and jealous at something totally unreasonable and petty who deleted you from their friends list and facebook, and such. THEN your gamertag just so happens to get reported and banned... twice in a week!! If I'm being continuously
harassed like that can I get a free change? and the original gamertag un-banned?

 

The enforcement team investigate each complaint they receive. They will only issue a suspension/ban if they determine that you have done something to violate the code of conduct/terms of service. You could have a million complaints filed against you and
they wouldn't do anything unless they found something. If you're being harrassed, you need to file a complaint on those gamers and block communications. Being harrassed is not grounds for a name change.

 

No I mean they are harassing me BY reporting my name. The gamertag wasn't offensive.

 

So basically I'm *** and have to keep paying money because a few people got butt hurt and found [Mod removed] to be offensive, but people who have gamertags with racism, sexist, crude references to balls or *** isn't offensive or inappropriate?

 

I know what you mean. The enforcement team would not have issued a forced name change unless you had something in it that violated the code of conduct. It doesn't matter how many time or why someone files a complaint on you. Action is only taken if you have
done something to violate the terms.

 

If you find other game tags offensive, report them. If they truly are they will be given a forced name change. By the way if your tag was truly not offensive, the moderator here would have allowed the name to stay visible and not redacted whatever it was.

 

Here is something to think about too.

Live is E for Everyone. However that actually means E for Everyone in the USA.

What might be a perfectly acceptable all ages word in one country might not be acceptable in the United States.
