Issues with Party Chat

I seem to have a weird problem, it has been happening for about a week now. Effectively when I go on-line, my friends are telling me that it shows me being in "party chat" when my name is viewed via the dashboard friends app, and when they try to join,
it obviously fails, because as far as I am aware, I am not in party chat and haven't set one up.

I have tried a hard reset and it didn't correct the issue - anyone here got any other ideas I could try.

My nat settings are open if that makes a difference.

Have you tried launching the party app just to check in case an old session is still running or anything like that?

I would open the party app, create a party, then leave the party, and finally go back to the dashboard and click the menu button (three lines) on the party app, this will open a pop up menu, from their select quit which should force the app closed. Hopefully
that'll sort it.

Unfortunately that didn't seem to work - after doing the above steps, my online friends said I'm still showing up being in a party by myself, even though the party app isn't running.

 

Hey guys, sorry bumping this thread as I still have this problem. Just to reiterate, from my online friends' perspective, it shows I am in party chat and when they join, they think I am being rude by not responding, but what is actually happening is, as
far as I am concerned, I am not in party chat at all.

This scenario happened lastnight, I was in party chat with a group of others, (I was invited), somebody joined the party chat via my name and was put in a separate party chat with just me and them in. Unfortunately for them, I was in the party chat with
about 6 others, but from his perspective, he was in a party chat with just me and him.

When he checked the party chat that I was currently in, it didn't show me in there at all, even though I was happily chatting away with my group of friends.

This is well peculiar and starting to get annoying - anyone have any suggestions.

Sorry to hear about the issue! If your friends are continuing to see you in Party Chat when you are not in one, I suggest trying a few troubleshooting steps:

• First, Remove your account from your Xbox One console.
  
• Once you have removed your account, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• When your console has powered off, unplug the power cord.
• Wait a few minutes and then plug in your console.
• Power on your console and Download your account to your Xbox One console.
  
• After your account has been successfully added, check with your friends to see if they are noticing that you showing as in Party Chat.
