Issues with party chat on XBox One

In the past week whenever I or my friends start a party I can hear them fine but they cannot hear me, I'm using the standard XBox One headset but I've tried using Kinect and that doesn't work either. My XBox responds to voice commands and when I speak in
party the little green circle lights up (both using the headset and Kinect), everyone's NAT is set to open, I've restarted my console numerous times, as have my friends; we've tried game chat which doesn't work either, it's pretty annoying.

I'm getting this exact issue. Why does the XBOX One Party chat suffer so many issues? It's amazing how on the XBOX 360 there wasn't this many problems with the party chat. Now with the XBOX One it's been nothing but issues with the Party chat since the
system was released.

I'm also tired of Microsoft constantly suggesting to do a hard reset on the system. It seems to be their answer to everything. Have a problem? Hard reset your system.

Xbox One Headset Doesn't Work In Party Chat

My headset that came with the Xbox One no longer works in Xbox Live Party Chats. Before, whenever I could get into Xbox Live Party Chats, the headset would work perfectly fine. However, one day my Xbox One was experiencing some freezing and loading issues
so I had to power it down completely, unplug it and turn it back on. After doing so I noticed my headset no longer worked during Party Chats. When plugged in, I can turn the volume up/down and hear the beeps and the mute indiciator turns on/off. I usually
use Skype when there's issues with the Xbox Party Chat and there's no issues whatsoever with my headset using Skype. The problem is strictly isolated to party chats. It's very strange. I've checked my settings and they all seem to be in order. My headset is
not faulty, so I'm not sure how to correct this issue.

I would really appreciate if someone could assist me on getting this fixed. Incredibly annoying problem.

 

G'day Spallywag! I have two things for you to try:

1. If you are using a headset, head over to your console's Kinect settings and disable the option to use Kinect to chat.
   
2. Once you've joined a party, go back to your home screen, select the Sign-In screen (upper left corner) and select "Choose This Person" over your profile. Do this even though you're already signed into your profile. This will make sure that your controller
   is paired to your profile so that it knows for sure to take your mic audio for chat.
   

Please let us know the result! If you've tried anything else, let us know that too. We don't want to ask you to repeat anything unnecessarily. =)

 

So when we have problems now we have to turn into computer gurus to fix ? why dont MS fix it

Having this same problem,yet the solution didnt help any. Since I want to use my Kinect to chat.

 

This has been happening to me since the update. I'm in the preview so I've had it for a couple weeks. Nearly every other day, I would have to hard reset my system because I would jump into a party chat and not hear my friends. They could hear me, I could
see my green circle moving when I'd talk, but complete silence from them. Well, now that the update has gone public, my friends with the update are also experiencing this. They jump in the party, I can hear them perfectly fine, but they can't hear me. Hard
reset, problem solved. This is a problem since the latest update.

Edit: I use Kinect exclusively for chat.

 

Mine and my cousins is also having the same problem.our kinnect works fine through skype but wont work when we are in a party.only the headset works.when we are in the party i can hear him through the kinnect but he cant hear me and sometimes vice versa.only

There's no excuse for this to be happening nearly 7 months into the consoles lifespan. The 360 had the perfect chat setup. Why it was changed is anyone's guess.

 

We're having the opposite problem. People can hear us, but we can't hear them. Their circles won't even light up to say they're talking. (We know they're talking because they called us during) It's been happening for a week now. Thought it was a headset
problem so switched to kinnect, still doesn't work. We've looked through all the settings, updated the controller, and the console says it's updated.

 

Did the "hard reset" and it worked.

 

Was there ever any specific fix? I have had this problem for weeks now and have tried every solution I could find.

NAT settings open. "Choose this person" while in party. Open privacy settings. No one is muted.

I get the thing where I can see my voice circle move but can't hear anyone in the party.

For a social focused xb1 campaign it is the hardest system ever to communicate with ppl. Triple menus just to access msgs if you miss the notification... Friends list buried under menus.... Etc. I miss xbox360...I'm really starting to regret not getting
ps4 tho....
