    Issues With Parental Passcode


    My Xbox is not allowing me to play Bioshock today saying that I need to enter a passcode because of parental settings. I've entered the regular passcode and it has not worked and the security question is not right for the one I originally did. Is there a
    way to reset this somehow? The email and everything is all matching my account but this passcode isn't working for me.

    My Xbox Live passcode has been forgotten!

    Are you referring to the Xbox LIVE passcode or the Parental Settings passcode? Only the LIVE passcode can be removed by recovering. The parental passcode can only be removed by either knowing the passcode or answering the secret question.

    Prince: This is incorrect. Recovering an account will only reset an Xbox LIVE passcode, not the parental passcode.

    Dodge: The only way you can remove a parental passcode is to A) know the passcode, or B) know the answer to the security question.

    Sorry to hear it. What you'll need to do is call phone support and they can walk you through the reset procedure. If you live in North America dial 1-800-469-9269

    Hey Grosse! Are you referring to the Xbox LIVE passcode (unique to each account, limits access to LIVE) or the Parental passcode (used to edit family options)? The LIVE passcode can be used or not, it's totally up to you, but a Family Passcode must be on
    if you want the Parental settings in place. Does this help your issue? Let me know, thanks!

    That depends, are you referring to the Xbox LIVE passcode (to sign in to the account) or the Parental Passcode (download content, change settings)? The LIVE passcode can simply be reset by recovering your account, or going into the menu and disabling it
    (requires the passcode). The Parental passcode will not be affected by recovering, and can only be disabled by knowing the code or answering the security question.
