Issues with notifications when using HDR

Ok,

This is the second time of posting this as the first time my issue was closed as resolved due to age when nobody bothered to pass it along to who it needed to go to in order to get resolved

Notifications do not work properly when playing games in HDR via Xbox GamePass for PC - it causes the screen to flicker to black and back again while it displays the notification then to black and back on again when it disappears. This is because it drops
HDR to display it then restores it when its gone.

This is not isolated to my machine as many people across the internet are reporting the same thing. It needs fixing.

Moderators - do not close this but pass it along to whatever technical team is responsible for Xbox/Xbox companion app on PC - they need to make notifications compatible with HDR.

Its easy to replicate - just plug a HDR TV or monitor into your PC then play a HDR game and get a notification to pop up.

I have experienced this on my Xbox. I had to restart my console for it be fixed. Only happened twice though

Unfortunately I have already logged the issue, twice, on the Win10 feedback app - just seems to be ignored

I dont have an account and not going to make one for reddit - dont see the point in keeping reporting the same issue over various channels - should be sufficient with the two I have done.

This issue has been going on since the launch of the XBox app on PC - numerous reports of it happening, it just need the right people to look at it, but they seem to be unreachable outside of the channels mentioned.

I appreciate it happened to you on your console, but we are talking about PC here - no amount of restarting will help it as its something in the way the apps are coded - the notifications do not display in HDR but force the system to return to SDR, then
back to HDR when notification disappears.

Im sure it would be a simple fix for the right person...

Is it any wonder the original issue didnt get resolved when an "Xbox Ambassador" cant be bothered to read the question? Its even posted in the correct "Gaming on Windows PC" category FFS

This is not an issue with Xbox One but with Xbox App on PC

Between this forum and the official feedback app I have to say service is non existent.

I dont want to call anyone in India either to be read from a script - just pass the issue over to the correct technical team.

Has this been picked up by anyone who can feed it back to the team responsible for fixing it?

This is an amazingly annoying bug and surely I cannot be the only person to experience it?

It quite literally takes you out the game while playing anything HDR to display a notification then again when the popup disappears

When playing HDR on the console it does not do this, its purely a PC issue displaying notifications when in HDR mode - I have tested it on two seperate displays and both show this issue, so its 100% with the way notifications are being displayed via the
Xbox companion app.

Should be easy to replicate to see what I am going on about? Maybe not many PC players use HDR capable screens to complain about this, but its definitely there and really annoying - keep having to play with notifications turned off, which isn't the best
way forward!
