Issues with my friends pc and the Xbox app

So last night I logged into the Xbox game pass app in my friends pc. It has now changed the name icon on the pc to mine and won't let him select his profile as default. It won't even let me delete my email on the pc. This is really weird and very annoying. Is there any simple fix or is this a bug thats really stupid to fix.

We're sorry to hear your friend is having trouble switching to their main account on the Game Pass app. Here are some possible solutions we can offer to help. As always, first make sure your PC has all the latest updates, as well as checking your Microsoft Store updates.

Solution 1:

Log out of the Microsoft Store and the Xbox app.
Launch the game again, it should prompt you to sign into your account.

Solution 2:

Go to Start > Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts
Under “Accounts used by other apps”, you should see your different Microsoft accounts, then click on the account you don’t want to use in the game, then click on the drop down and choose “Apps need to ask me to use this account”.
Try to launch the game again, it should prompt you to choose which account you want to sign in with

I am also having this issue today. Not only am I seeing Chinese Characters near my friends names appear on the Friends Tab, but I am also missing most of my friends. I am seeing this on the PC as well as on Xbox and the Xbox App on iPhone.

hmm, friends on my friends list are updating fine? would it be an issue for just random people rather than everybody?

ive checked the time played on my xbox, on my windows pc via the xbox app, and on my phone via the mobile xbox app... all not updating.

i saw in another thread that being part of the xbox insider hub could be causing it maybe?

Im having no issues with the xbox social app via pc, but my friends who are all on xbox are, i can hear all of them in chat and they can hear me but not each other.

Could you describe what problems you and your friends have with the app? I am running the app on 3 PCs (may main gaming PC, my Surface Tablet and work PC) and don't have any issues.

Additionally, the Xbox apps are Windows 10 system apps, and can't really be removed without causing possible future troubles with Windows Updates.

So please describe the issues you have and we might be able to help you better.
