Issues with moving Games/Add-On to External Storage

I have been moving games and/or add-on from Internal to External Storage successfully several times. I tried to do the same thing tonight since my Internal Storage space is getting low. For some unknown reason, it stopped working.

In the past when I tried to move things, those items will be appeared under "Queue", and the progress bar would run from 0 to 100% before it disappeared. Tonight it simply wouldn't happen. When I selected a game or an add-on, then selected "Move All", nothing
happened; nothing appeared under "Queue", no progress bar whatsoever. I still have plenty of space on my External Storage, so I don't think it's the space issue.

One quick note is that after I tried to move a game without a success, it will take more than 5 minutes before the console turned itself off (i.e. light stopped flashing). However if I simply play a game and turn the unit off, it would take about 5-10 seconds
only for the system to goes off.

It seems to me that moving contents to External Storage is the issue here. Appreciate any advice you can give. I would hate to format my external storage and re-download everything again.

If you're using External Storage, I would suggest doing the factory reset PurpleNurpe referenced above, after unplugging your external storage and leaving it unplugged. After you factory reset, reinstall some of the games (specifically the Dark Souls), and
test to see if the issues arise. If you're using external storage, the games are likely not erased, which means if there is something corrupted that is causing this issue on the external storage, you could be seeing the issue pop back up.

If you don't have the issue using just the Xbox after a reset, then I would suggest formatting your external storage, and moving games back to it.

Problems playing games bought on XBL marketplace

It could be a problem with the HDD (Hard drive), it might not be able to read the game types properly. Do you have an official Xbox HDD?

Also, you could try moving the games to a fast external storage device and run them from there. Make sure that if you use an external storage device, it has nothing else on, and you are allowed to format it to Xbox storage, because it will remove everything
on that storage device.

 

Did you get this sorted? Im now also having this problem.

 

No helps from anyone, so I ended up factory resetiting my console
