    Issues with Minecraft for Windows 10 and my Xbox Live account


    Hi,

    I redeemed the copy of Minecraft for Windows 10 that I got for free with my Java Edition account few years ago, but I can't log into the Xbox Live account associated with this copy anymore.

    So I made a new Xbox Live account (this one) and I was wondering if I could transfer my copy of Minecraft for Windows 10 to this account. I still have the gift code for that game (redeemed by the previous account that I can't access anymore), if that helps.

    Impossible to get my free code to activate Minecraft Windows 10 edition

    Hi, I bought minecraft Java edition few days ago, after, I'm trying to get my free code to activate the windows 10 edition on my Mojang Account but there is no code!!

    I tried the next day but same error.. I sent an email to the Mojang Support, this is the answer :

    Can't redeem a code for Minecraft Windows 10

    Hi,

    When I want to redeem my Free code for Windows 10 Edition of Minecraft, the MOJANG Website returns me this :

    "Error! It looks like we've temporarily run out of gift codes for Minecraft for Windows 10. Don't worry though, more codes should be on their way. Please check back later!"

    The MOJANG Support reply me this :

    So, can you help me ? I've the Java version of Minecraft I bought her and have the screenshot on my Mojang account. And I need the Windows 10 version of Minecraft because I'm now on Windows 10 x64 Professionnal Edition.

    Error: You cannot play online multiplayer through Xbox Live because of how your account is set up.

    ... To add to the above. To eliminate that it was not a local issue on my windows 10 machine, I completely formatted the machine and did a clean install of windows 10 on another machine I had sitting around. After installed windows 10, doing all the updates,
    and then trying to connect to minecraft through my xbox live account I received the exact same error message. This should eliminate that this is an issue locally on my computer and points more toward an issue with xbox live account perhaps?
    Microsoft ... going to need your help.

    This might not be related but I had to add both of my sons again as friends to my Xbox live account with their Microsoft Xbox live accounts. The problem I am having is when launch Minecraft on Windows 10, I host the game. They can see me now and access
    the game on LAN sharing but when they go to get in, it says Access not allowed. (All of us running Windows 10) If they host a Minecraft game I cannot access but they can access each other.

    The issue just started happening since the last update from patch Tuesday. Maybe the underlying issue is with the Microsoft Live account.

    Just wondering...

    Thanks for your post. I understand you are experiencing an issue with playing Minecraft for Windows 10. There should be no change to your GamerTag, you can only change it using a

    xbox play anywhere on minecraft

    I own minecraft "windows 10 edition" on xbox one but isn't availabile on windows 10....
    There is no "Windows 10 Edition" on the Xbox One.

    On the Xbox One, there was a "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" but that has been replaced with just "Minecraft".

    As the others already said, "Minecraft" is not a Play Anywhere title, so owning "Minecraft" on the Xbox One, doesn't give you "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" on the PC.

    However, if you own Minecraft Java Edition on PC, you can log into your Mojang Account on PC, and can get a code for the Windows 10 Version.
