Issues with installation

Where do I even begin with this one.

Alright, so I bought a brand new copy of the Deluxe Version of Inquisition. I put in the game, it plays normally. I get to the installation screen; my Xbox is one of the 4GB ones, but I have the cloud activated; I think I can save it and go on no problem.

Not the case. It says that it can't save, because I may have "uploads pending" or clear anything that doesn't belong in the cloud. The problem is, my cloud is empty. The only saved things are in the flash drive for the Xbox and my own personal memory unit.

I really want to play this game, so I bought an external hard drive with over 100GB of data. I plug it in, go through the installation process, and it starts to work! It gets a little under halfway done with installation, and then issues start happening.

The loading icon appears in the corner, and then the installation notice comes up; "To ensure optimal quality for Dragon Age: Inquisition," blah blah blah. I just click the 'okay' button, hoping it will resume with the installing. It does not. The loading
bar actually REVERSES, and this continues to happen until there is no loading bar at all, and it brings me back to the installation notice.

I'm at my wit's end. I made sure the hard drive was properly in, I've restarted the console, taken out the game and put it back in. It refuses to load more than two little notches anymore.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This entire thing's cost me well over a hundred dollars, and I'd be devastated if I couldn't play this game for whatever reason.

Installation stopped

having issues with installation stopped at 60%, I have disc. So I have no story mode or online access.

Tried hard reset, tried to install offline, still comes up with installation stopped, any help please.

It has to be because of launch day I would hope, I'm having the same problem with COD Ghosts. I've tried installing tj multiple times to no avail, the furthest I got was 54% then it said install stopped! I tried installing off line and wireless. I am now
trying again plugged into my Ethernet cord to see if that will help. After 20 min I'm at 2%. I'm going to let this take as long as it has to today since I have ready many posts that some peoples games took 6-12hrs to download. That's ridiculous by the way.

My question is that if you can be offline to install then how would launch day affect downloading a local disc? That's where I'm concerned.

Your external hard drive is considered in the same as a flash memory stick. You'll need to get the actual media hard drive:

Ocean; I did buy an XBox external hard drive. It was the drive that allowed me to BEGIN installation, but pauses half way through and suddenly started to reverse. It begins the installation process, now, but only lasts a few seconds before bringing up the
"This game requires at least 7GB of storage and a hard drive" message, and restarts the process.

 

I'm gonna be more specific: the game doesn't accept installation on external storage. Whether it's flash drive or external hard drive, the game isn't meant to install on external storage connected through USB just like Need for Speed Rivals on Xbox 360.
You need to install it on an internal hard drive (media hard drive). The link I provided to you aren't external hard drives; they're internal hard drives for the Xbox 360:

I misspoke, and we are going in circles; that is the same device I bought, inserted, and am currently trying to install the game on.

With my flash drive, it did say I couldn't use the device. However, it did allow me to begin saving with the internal hard drive. And, as I said, it begun installation, got half-way through, and then the loading bar actually reversed until it was down to
nothing.

It will begin installing on the drive, last for a few seconds, and then bring up the message to choose a device to install the game on.

 

hello everyone!

i have exactly the same problem: installation stops and then reverses and asks again about free space. I have 250 gb xbox hdd with about 55 gb free.

 

@WavyBarracuda6; if you're having the same problem, then it can't be an issue with the internal hard drive, like I thought.

I tried deleting the data, formatting the device, and then clearing the cache before trying installation again, but I still get the same result. I'm starting to wonder if it's something to do with the game itself.

 

I`m having the same problem, did you guys find what is this problem?
