    i've just purchased a month of gold, and I've been billed for the transaction

    I've received firstly an email confirming my purchase and billing info, minutes later I receive a message confirming my cancellation of my gold account?

    and my account remains a silver membership,

    Any tips on my next steps to figure out what just happened

    Trouble purchasing

    Can't purchase the live gold to play but can purchase movies still on Xbox video with no problems? No issues with card but still always declines with the gold. Cleared cache already and I've updated and restarted a million times. Nothing is working

    Billing account locked?

    Are you part of a family gold pack or under 18? Those can cause issues with trying to make purchases.

    that is just the way it is, gold memberships cannot be bought with ms points the only way to buy gold is via the console with some sort of payment or the cards that are bought in the stores.

    Since that is not a Rewards program issue, this is the wrong forum. However, gold can only be purchased via credit card/Paypal or by purchasing a prepaid gold card in a store. It has never been possible to use the currency on your account to purchase gold.
    The system is not set up to work with recurring subscriptions.
