Issues With General/Background Downloads

Hello! So I recently bought GTA V through the marketplace. It downloaded perfectly last night, and then after awhile the game started telling me that I "lacked required content" or something along those lines. I deleted all traces of the game and started
to download it again, because that seemed to be my only option. So I'm still not sure what happened there, or if it will happen again. I turn the console off when I download things, and my background downloads don't appear to be working. I know they are enabled,
and I checked that. The little green flashing light that comes with them while the console is off still flashes, but no progress is made (I turned off my console while I was at 4%, and woke up to 4%).

Background Downloads Broken?

It could be something with your wi-fi connection / router and nothing with the actual background download. I haven't had any issues with background downloading and I've been using the 360 Slim for over a year now and I only use the wi-fi connection, not
ethernet cable.

general issues

I am part of the preview program/insider hub, whatever its called now and my xbox is turning on but wont load anything. it worked fine last night, then i traveled to spend the weekend with my father and upon plugging it in and turning it one it wont work.
the console loads up just fine but then if i try to connect it to the internet or load a game it takes a long time then tells me it didnt work and to reset the console and then it just freezes.

Also, the downloads work when I have the Xbox on.

Xbox Live is having issues (yet again, great year for XBL eh?). You're just going to have to wait unfortunately. Make sure there are no corrupted downloads, and download each update one at a time.

have you cleared the system cache? settings storage hover over HDD (or main memory device) hit (Y) clear system cache, do want to prefor... YES

do it three times. also have you tried to do the download on a through a wired connection or a different WIFI?

Are you backgrounding the download?

Puting it i. The background generally will slow any download down

Especially a 50 gig download

When downloading something yes you can background download it but it will slow the progress down if you play a game while downloading

A 10 gig will take 2hours in the background

Go to System>Settings>Console Settings>Startup and Shutdown and then turn on the Background Downloads. When turned on the console will continue downloading DLC when the console is shut down. It will not continue downloading content when you're using other
online features. DLC that is pending must be started before shutting down the console.
