Issues with game disk installation

First, welcome to the Xbox community. According to the report I suggest you try the solutions below, please.

Solution 1:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Solution 2:

Press the Xbox button.

Open Settings.

Go to Network and select Network settings.

Select Advanced settings.

Select Alternate MAC Address.

Select Clear.

Select Restart.

Solution 3:

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select the account that you want to remove, and then select Remove to confirm.

Restart your console and add the account again.

Solution 4:

Eject the disc from your console.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage devices.

Select Clear local saved games.

Select Yes to confirm.

Once your console restarts, try installing the game again.

Another update...

Turns out the other day when I was installing and having those issues it was downloading the game from the store for some reason and installing, that's why it said it was downloading files or what ever it said but it never said installing. I just uninstalled
ghost and put the disk back in to install and it started installing from the disk.

I talked to Microsoft again and they said the other day customers were having issues with installs and that is what was happening and they were telling people to unhook network cable so the game would install in offline mode from the disk.

So that is why the game was able to continue the install while the disk was out haha. Looks like they fixed that issue as its installing from the disk now and way quicker than it installed the other day.

Wow I understand some on here may be 12 but... No I didn't try to play the game with the disk out... I just took the game out while I played another game to let the game finish installing.

I was just explaining the disk does not need to stay in to continue the install once it says ready to install.

Of course the disk needs to be in to play. But once the game gets to 51% and says ready to install, or ready to play that just means it has saved all of the required files for the install and will continue installing while you play. That was the issue I
was having as parts of the game were not installed yet. Once the game fully installed I haven't had any issues booting back to dashboard.

IB said the disk needs to stay in to install, that is not the case. I even talked to Microsoft about it. They said once it says ready to install it has all of the required files to perform the install and the disk can be removed. I tested it and took the
disk out, and watched the game in my games and apps and it continued to install just fine.

its not the disk, i have the same issue and i have two copies of the game, mine and my son's disk does the same thing... i have uninstalled the game and ran just off the disk and still have the same issue. i re installed the game and again still have the
same issue...

Thanks for coming to the forums. We understand having issue installing a disk game. We recommend trying the

troubleshoot guide for installing disk game. Also, try installing the game on a friend console. Is this the only game that will not install?
