    I have an Xbox one and it stopped reading my Seagate hard drive. I did a hard reset and changed the usb port it was plugged into but still nothing

    If you have an external hard drive could you try deleting a game and installing it directly to the console's hard drive to rule out issues with the external drive itself?

    Issues with External hard drive

    Hi there,

    if possible be sure to check if the hard drive is recognized by a different Xbox One console.

    If it's not recognized by a different console then you could try formatting the external hard drive, but keep in mind that everything on that hard drive will be removed.

    Also be sure to check this support page for several things to try: https://support.xbox.com/games/troubleshooting/console-doesnt-detect-external-storage

    If all fails then it's best to contact Xbox Support like mentioned on the support page.

    Just to add to WPAKS post there, if your external drive is still in warranty, and the drive is no longer working, then you might be able to get a replacement drive from seagate, more info on seagates support website here https://www.seagate.com/support/

    Having the same issues. Could be something to do with the external hard drive maybe, not had time to troubleshoot yet though.

    Some ideas to try maybe?

    1. Make the Xbox One drive the primary drive, while the external drive is still plugged in

    2. Try with the external hard drive unplugged

    No idea if this will make a difference, but this issue only started for me since I got an external drive. Unless others are having the same issue with no external hard drive?

    May I know if an external hard drive is plugged into your console? If yes, have you kept the external hard drive unplugged when performing troubleshooting steps and check if the issue persists without external hard drive?
