Issues with downloading games

Hey Xbox, I have been having an issue with downloading digital games on my Xbox 360 this was never really an issue until recently it took me 3days to download "Condemned -Criminal origins" (a game at an astronomical 3.39gb in size) Now why did it take so
long you ask? well here is what I am dealing with I select the game to download and it sits there its gets to about 29% (after a few minutes of downloading) and stops and I get the little toast message saying "Condemned cant download" so I delete the game,
clear the system cashe, remove the system update, disconnect my router for 30 seconds and try again and still a no go it just cannot kick over that 29% so after trying the steps above a few times I woke up this morning to find ahhhhh it finally downloaded.
So Xbox my question to you is what is the cause of this? because at the same time I was trying to download Condemned I just said FORGET it and downloaded "Gotham city imposters" with no issues so is it just game specific? because I had this issue with two
other games "Remember me" and "Halo 3" so is this just something I am going to have to deal with? is it my HDD? is it my "walmart" internet (walmart i.e. slow) that's it... that's a few questions I guess now that I look it but yeah get back at me if you can.

Thanks for the information! It's starting to sound like your storage device is failing. I suggest trying downloading these games/DLC to a different storage device (another hard drive, a
USB drive, etc) and seeing if it continues to give you the same errors.

If it doesn't, it sounds like your current hard drive is failing and needs to be replaced.

No it's starting to be anything I download is having problems even the new call of duty black ops 2 dlc that came out today won't play nor the previous dlc for the game. Videos download fine it's anything that is game related I'll download it then when I
go to play it it will just freeze or the fps will drop to such a low rate to where the game won't even start. And yes my account region and console locale are the same as my physical location.

 

Hey mate, I'm not going to be able to give you a definitive answers as I don't know what goes on behind the scenes, but it could be to all or 1 of the factors that you have listed in your OP.

What time were you trying to download? Was it around the peak time of you're internet provider, like after work on a week day? Is there a possibility there was high volumes of traffic on your end slowing it down?

Also there could have been issues with the Xbox Live service at the time. Often there are service alerts that can affect download profiles, games, dlc etc. you can keep an eye on the status here:
support.xbox.com/xbox-live-status

Finally like you've listed in your OP, it could be a game specific thing. On my time on Xbox and the support forums I have seen issues which only affect a specific games on demand game. Forza Horizon springs to mind.

Sorry I could not be more specific, but a lot of the time it is a bit of a guessing game.

 

Gotham city imposters is the free game for this month but I can't download it. Every time I try it wants me to pay. Whats up with that?

Never had any problems in the past at all so a little help would go along way here. Because my status says all is good in the land of 360 and I know for a fact its not.

 

Gotham City Imposters was only free until July 15th. Your too late. It is now Battle Block Theater.
