Issues with connectivity between console, controller, and headset

    Hello Xbox community!

I have had an issue with my wireless connection between my console and any wireless accessory I use for quite some time now. So I have a bit of history I wish to catch you up on so hopefully the issue can be resolved. Or at least, be made aware of.

So to begin I will describe the problem as best I can with as much detail as I can, so I apologize for length.

Everything will connect absolutely fine. My controller, just a regular Xbox One controller that came with the console, will always connect with zero problem. As does my third party Turtle Beach Stealth 700 wireless headset that uses the Xbox Wireless technology.
But, at mostly random times, the connection will become.. Garbled, for lack of a better way of putting it.

By that I mean my controller will lose it's connection to the Xbox for a few moments and the audio in my headset becomes laggy, or just drops out entirely. Those I talk with on the headset say that my voice gets laggy or incredibly robotic, and more often
than not is rather weak. Which is odd to me given the reviews of this headset, but third party I get it. But back to the issue at hand, the connection will be lost temporarily and reconnect after a few seconds. I'd say anywhere between 2-3 to 5-10.

I will also point out that when this issue occurs when it is just my controller connected to the Xbox, say I am turning the camera. The console drops connection, I cant use the controller obviously, but the camera will still do this werid slight turn to
the left and look straight down.

This issue has been an issue between not only my Xbox One X.. But my Xbox One S before I upgraded. And part of the reason I upgraded, was because of this issue.

Now there's an extra layer to this as well. I am in the Alpha ring for updates. Most of the time with my Xbox One S was in the Beta ring, I believe it was in the Alpha ring for less than 6 months or so before I upgraded. And since, I have taken the One S
out of the Insider program and let my girlfriend use the Xbox. With the controller that came with that Xbox... And she has not seen this issue whatsoever...

So, now I am absolutely lost on what kind of issue this actually IS. Is it an issue with my Insider build? An issue with my Xbox? Or accessories?

I have submitted a few error reports on the Xbox itself, but nothing has come about. I am hoping that with this post some sort of something can come about to getting it fixed. Or at the very least, identified.

Thank you for your patience in reading this and overlooking any potential typos.

    :)

anyone successfully connect logitech g935 headset to xbox one wirelessly?

According to the user manual of the G935 headset, you connect the headset to the Xbox One controller via the headphone jack cable.

For wireless operation, the G935 uses the USB adapter that only works on PC. So on the console, you have the wireless connection between console and controller. But from controller to headset, you have a wired connection to the headset.

The wireless USB adapter that connects the headset to the PC doesn't work on the Xbox One.

    Xbox headset audio sounds choppy

are you getting the same issue with different controllers and headsets? also when connecting the headset (presumed wired) have you tried different cables etc.

sometimes there can be cases when there is interference from outside sources, especially if there are any wireless connections, whether it be your console to wi fi, your controller to the console or a wireless headset.

if there are any bluetooth or other wireless connections around your console this can lead to some interruptions in connectivity, whether it be a sort of lag spike between the controller and console, or just air traffic interfering.

unfortunately without hands on theres not much that can be done, if you have not already i would suggest moving the console, keeping an eye on whats around your console, again if you have any other consoles around it, its in an enclosed space, bluetooth
    speakers, other wireless controllers etc.

also which has been an issue in the past, if you are using a wireless controller, but have a secondary wired controller connected to the console, sometimes this can be an issue.

Wireless Headset (360 to XBOX One)

There aren't any at the moment. There has to be a wire between the controller (the stereo headset adapter) and headset, although there is no need for any cables between console and controller in order to support this.

    No sound on headset

Hi, have you tried using the headset with a controller connected to the console via usb? maybe the problem is related to the wireless connection between joypad and console...

When you speak about console reset, are you intending a complete factory reset?

Xbox controller not working with headset

Sometimes the connection between the headset and controller isn't good. Unplugging the headset and plugging it back in is the most common way to resolve these issues.

Here's an article from Lifewire that has good steps for this issue. Below, I've included what I do when I have this problem.

**Note: If you're using the controller on the PC, it's better to plug the headset directly into the PC pretty much all the time**

First, you need to figure out if it's the headset or the controller (or even the console). Here are some steps to figure that out:

    • Does the headset work in another controller on the same console? If yes, it's probably the controller.
    • Does the headset work on another device, like computer or phone? If yes, but the first answer is no, it could be the controller or console.
    • Does the controller work with a different headset? If yes, it's the headset.
If the problem is the controller, some things to try are:

    • Turn it off and back on
    • Re-sync it to the console
    • Make sure there is no obstruction in the jack (oil, dirt, other buildup)
If the problem is the console, some things to try are:

    • Power cycle the console
    • Check audio settings
    • Make sure your console is up-to-date
If the problem is the headset, you should check for damage to the wires and jack, or oil/dirt/other buildup on the jack.
