    Xbox Live Account Locked

    I recently got an error trying to upgrade my Xbox Live account to Gold. Upon going to Xbox Support Chat, they notified me that my account is locked due to fraudulence or unauthorized access. They then told me that the Advocacy team would be contacting me
    to get the account unlocked. So far I have received no word from the Advocacy team, and phone support directed me here.

    This should be a quick and simple fix, but so far everyone at Microsoft support is just trying to pass the problem off. How can I get this fixed soon?

    Try rebooting your Xbox. For your television try removing the power plug after it has been turned off and plugging it back in and resetting your audio settings.

    I have this issue once a year or so because I don't turn off my devices properly.

    resetting every time you log into the game. If I try changing my armor to something else and I get off the game and log back in, the game resets my armor. The servers lag a lot when I'm in a game and the connection host is always laggy to play on. The servers
    tend to lag a lot and I always find a game with a red bar and I'm wired with my internet so it shouldn't be lagging. The game will be teleporting and having issues and sometimes lagging out everyone. Please get back to me when you can.

    My account is basically on Lock over a promotion that MICROSOFT themselves had.

    Support gave you an accurate explanation, and while the situation may seem frustrating, one should consider this a "good thing."

    Allow me to elaborate a bit. I experienced the same issue several years ago after buying a 1400 MSP card on a Monday, then a 2800 MSP card on Wednesday and then after receiving my paycheck on the Thursday, another 1400 MSP card. This set off a "flag" somewhere
    that fraudulent activity may have been taking place on my account and my account was "locked" just as yours has been. While it was an inconvenience, as I was unable to purchase anything or have access to any of my DLC, it was, upon further reflection, something
    I ended up appreciating as it showed me that Microsoft is doing everything they can to protect me and my account from others that would do it harm.

    My account was "locked" for approximately 10-14 days and returned to normal after it was determined that there was in fact nothing out of the ordinary and no fraudulent activity taking place.

    So, if you're not doing anything that you shouldn't be doing, you have nothing to worry about and should get your account back soon.
