Issues Reading discs error code (0x21): Your disc might be dirty or damaged.

@ razor, I'm in the UK if that makes a difference, our xbox live went down yesterday for a while, couldn't even sign in to your account, nothing worked.

MICROSOFT? - DVD drive noises after march update - what's happening?

My Xbox One has also been having issues with reading discs. Ever since the march update, any time I switch discs I get error code (0x21) saying that my disc is dirty or damaged. The only way I am able to get the system to read the disc is to do a hard reset,
which includes unplugging the system. On top of that, anytime I switch discs I have to do the same reset, and I am unable to even play the same game after turning the console off via its regular sleep mode.

I hve a problem with Witcher 3 disc. I have received error: "Check your disc. Your disc might be dirty or damaged. Error code: 0x80820003 - 0x45. I have only one disc with game but other Blu-ray movie discs od dirty CD works fine. After hard reset and unlugging
power i can play. What is wrong with my console? Is this software error or hardware?

 

Having the same issue here. After a broken first console and a controller that lasted a month. Good one microsoft.

 

I have the newest April update and I have not seen this error since.... It was very frustrating and I hope it is permanently fixed.

 

When is the April update available in Canada?

This is SO Frustrating not being able to play games on a gaming console...

 

I love the silence of microsoft. They do not communicate with us, we are just consumers who have been scammed... shame on you with your xbox low cost...

I'm sick of having to restart my console so that it can eventually play a game... and microsoft that does not communicate, it is a scandal !!!

 

it's a goog new for youtube update... but updating the xbox so it can read the game properly ????

 

"Verified Answer" doesn't work. Still having the issue.

 

Let the console draw the disc back in and wait 30 seconds for the disc drive to wake up once it does the current disc will reappear on your dashboard once it does then swap out your discs.

 

This is happening for me as well. Only started happening after Beta update. And only seems to happen if you eject the disk whilst a game is running in the background. I need to hard reset every time I want to change disks at the moment. Still no answer or
update/fix from Microsoft.

I have tried all the before mentioned fixes and some of them work but only until you eject a disk again. Is sending the console back the only fix?

 

Have you tried the suggestion above, also the dev team just released an update that should have fixed it. Look here (forums.xbox.com/.../default.aspx)

I have had this problem switching games and xbox not being able to detect disc... i always noticed it spins for a few seconds then does this slight noise and stops then a few moments later i get a please insert a disc bluray or game and so on... well make
sure the disc is clean then i slide it in half way where it starts to take it in.... wait a moment then let it go.. it works all the time but there has to be a better way... but for now thats what works for me...

 

O did what Th3 Red Barron suggest and worked for me. But I´m not sure about holding the disc. This issue is starting to get to me.
