Issues playing games online with friends

I created a profile on my uncle's Xbox, and then when I finally got my own, I transferred my already made profile to my own Xbox. Now whenever my uncle and I try to play online together, we are unable to connect to each others games, even though we are now
on separate systems. We both are able to play online with other people, just not each other. Can anyone help?

This has happened for both the 360 and the One, if that makes a difference.

You can still sign someone in on the console as a guest, just follow the steps on this page

Be aware that some games don't support splitscreen though

Ok so im not sure were to post this, but why is it with every console instead of making it easier to play with friends at home you guys make it harder. Was trying to play split screen with someone at home and for some reason you cant just make a guest account
and play as my guest for the game i spent almost 90 dollars for?? You need to have a outlook email and remember the password and then phone number and age,name,blah blah blah hollly cow. PLEASE i am a loyal costumer have only had Xbox,Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
One of my favorite aspects of gaming is being able to play with people at my house or a friends house, gaming should be a social thing! **** don't make it so hard to continue to come up with reason to not switch to Play Station.
