    Issues launching games with the XBOX app for W10


    As many others after the recent E3 conference, i'm trying the new Game Pass Ultimate.

    I've had the live gold for a time, but being more of a PC gamer and having no one to play on XBOX it was pointless. The recent announcement has been a really good notice.

    Problem is, after installing the games when I try to launch them it starts nicely but after a few seconds the XBOX Live connection window pops up saying there's no connection.

    The app logs without problem, the store does too and if I try to log in the xbox website it also works fine (both in chrome and edge).

    I've tried several things including the offline mode that doesn't seem to do anything.

    Any idea about how to solve this?

    Is it a know issue?

    First of all thanks for the help you two.

    Ok, new update after checking two of the games (Vampyr and Metro Exodus):

    - Vampyr is now working fine.

    - Metro Exodus still prompts the login message.

    There is no specific error. It's just a (I have a spanish client so the wording may not be the correct one in english) message informing of XBOX Live connectivity issues in the lines of:

    "Could not start session in Xbox Live"

    It offers the possibility of changing the account (does nothing) or try to connect again (nothing either)

    Oh, checked the support article. I've never had any issues with games in W10 (Steam, Origin, UPlay, Epic...). It's just the ones (one now, it seems) installed through the Xbox (beta) app trying to validate the Xbox Live account and failing to do so.

    I'd try more games, but my HD is near the limit and I don't want to change the installation drive since, AFAIK, it also changes the default route for all software installation. Also, the download speed (due to the novelty saturation I guess) doesn't help
    at all.

    Hi, I understand where you're coming from.

    Have you looked on your W10 account settings to see if your account needs any verifying?

    Secondly, maybe go to the Xbox app in Windows and refresh your internet connection in the settings menu.

    It might even be a server issue, is it still saying there's no connection?

    Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums with this issue concerning the Xbox (Beta) app on PC. Are you getting any specific error messages or codes when you're attempting to connect to Xbox Live? Does this happen with only one game in particular,
    or any game you attempt to launch?

    In general, when you have an issue with games launching via the Xbox app, I would recommend troubleshooting the issue using our support article, Game
    freezes or stops responding on a Windows 10 device
    , if you haven't done so already.

    Go ahead and give this a try to see if it makes a change and let us know the results, as well as any messages or codes you receive.

    Same issue here. I can launch Metro but login windows appears and fail login...

    Other games works.

    Try using the new
    Xbox (Beta) app
    . You'll be able to download and launch the contents. Also check that W10 is correctly updated.
