    Issues connecting Xbox controller to PC via Bluetooth


    Hello everyone,

    I'm having some trouble connecting my Xbox controller to my PC via Bluetooth and could really use some help. The controller seems to pair, but it doesn't actually connect, and the light keeps flashing. I've made sure my Bluetooth drivers are up-to-date and have tried multiple attempts to reconnect.

    Here's what I've done so far:

    1. Verified that my PC's Bluetooth is working by connecting other devices.

    2. Made sure my Xbox controller is updated with the latest firmware.

    3. Attempted to pair the controller several times—each attempt results in the controller not being recognized correctly.

    Has anyone else run into this issue and found a solution? Is there something specific in the settings I might be missing? Any advice would be appreciated!

    Hi Diabelnyy,

    Unfortunately it's not possible to connect your headset via Bluetooth, unless your headset or headphones have built in Bluetooth. If the headset's are Bluetooth capable, then you would need to set them up via your PC's Bluetooth settings, but I'm not sure
    if you can have multiple devices connected via Bluetooth at the same time.

    You would need to directly connect the headset to your PC via the 3.5 mm audio port. Connecting into the controller will not work unless you are playing on an Xbox One console.

    The Xbox wireless controller adapter for PC will not work in trying to connect a headset via Bluetooth.

    Xbox consoles do not use Bluetooth at all. The controllers connect to consoles via RF. The Xbox controllers only use Bluetooth to connect to PCs and phones.

    Hi Keith, There are two ways to connect an Xbox controller to a PC: with a USB cable or via Bluetooth.

    Connect with a USB cable

    Plug one end of the USB cable into the USB port on your PC.

    Plug the other end of the USB cable into the USB port on your Xbox controller.

    The controller should automatically connect to your PC.

    Connect via Bluetooth

    Make sure your Xbox controller and PC have Bluetooth.
    Activate Bluetooth on your PC.

    Press and hold the pairing button on the Xbox controller for 3 seconds.

    The controller should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices on your PC.

    Select the Xbox controller from the list and click "Connect."

    So, even after the update the issue persist? That's odd

    Just to confirm, if you connect the controller via cable to the PC or to the Xbox, the issue persists?

    Or if you connect the controller via bluetooth with a phone, are you able to test? Or not at all?

    If the issue persists, try connecting the controller via USB to help update the controller on the PC.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.
